사이버대학교의 강의운영 개선에 관한 연구 (Course Management in Cyber Universities in Korea)

초록

급변하는 디지털 시대의 정보통신 기술의 발전은 사이버 대학의 외형적인 발전을 가져왔지만, 사이버 강의에 적합한 강의 운영 방식은 아직 정착되지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사이버대학교의 강의 운영 현황을 분석하고 문제점을 파악한 후 보다 발전적인 강의운영 방향을 모색하였다. 본 연구에서는 2007년 실시된 사이버대학 평가 영역 중 수업운영 영역인 출석관리, 학습촉진, 과제 관리, 상호작용, 학습평가 분야를 심층적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 보다 효율적인 사이버대학의 강의 운영을 위해 오프라인 교육과는 차별화되는 사이버대학의 잠재력을 활용하여 교수 및 학습 활동을 진행해야 한다는 것이다. 21세기의 사이버 교육 환경에 맞추어 교육의 주체인 교수와 학생, 대학 당국 모두가 새로운 교육패러다임에 걸 맞는 역할에 최선을 다할 때 사이버 교육은 강력하고 효율적인 잠재성을 발휘할 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This study analyzes the class management of cyber universities, their drawbacks, and searches for improvements. While the growth of information and communication technology in the dynamically changing digital era has brought external development to cyber universities, suitable management systems have not been implemented yet. In order to be more effective in class management, cyber universities should utilize their components that distinguish them from traditional education institutions. Namely, to adjust to the new education paradigm, the existing instructor-centered, classroom-centered educational method should not be followed. Instead, new pedagogies, educational management, and assignment and assessment supervisions should be implemented. Similarly, the development and application of interactive methods that suit the cyber education environment are important. It is essential that instructors enforce various activities that promote learning for each student level to motivate learners and allow them to successfully finish courses. Additionally, providing quick feedback to students’questions through constant monitoring is equally important. Instructors should offer different forms and levels of studying materials to make individual learning and intense learning practical. Cyber students are required to reorganize information and knowledge, making use of diverse online studying methods. The authorities of cyber universities should develop administrative systems and technical support systems that foster students’ learning and encourage online communication. Cyber universities should provide diverse student evaluation methods and continue to develop reliable, unprejudiced, and convenient evaluation plans. Cyber universities have the potential to provide stable, exciting learning environments for students of all ages from all over the world.
