캔틴스쿨(건강장애청소년학교밖배움터) 운영 효과에 관한 혼합방법론 연구 (A Study on Effect of Operation of Canteen School for Health Impaired Adolescents, the Mixed Methodology)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 캔틴스쿨(건강장애청소년학교밖배움터) 운영 효과를 평가하는데 있다. 본 연구는 혼합연구방법론을 적용하였다. 양적연구에 있어서는 전실험설계(pre-experimental design)인 정태적 집단비교설계(static group comparison)를 하였다. 9세 이상 24세 이하의 건강장애청소년 중에서 캔틴스쿨 참여학생과 비참여학생을 대상으로 2018년 6월부터 9월까지 레질리언스와 관련된 설문조사를 각각 실시하였다. 캔틴스쿨 참여학생과 비참여학생의 레질리언스 차이를 비교하기 위해 두 독립표본 t검정(two-independent samples t-test)을 실시하였으며, 양적자료분석의 결과, 캔틴스쿨 참여학생집단(N=32)의 레질리언스 평균점수는 97.69점으로 나타났고 캔틴스쿨 비참여학생집단(N=34)의 레질리언스 평균점수는 90.50점으로 나타났다.
질적연구에 있어서는 비확률표집방법 가운데 의도적 표집(purposive sampling)에 의해 연구참여자를 선정하였으며, 2018년 6월부터 9월까지 보호자 10명과 건강장애청소년(캔틴스쿨 학생) 10명을 인터뷰하였다. Miles와 Huberman의 질적자료분석방법을 활용하여 분석한 결과, ‘개입 이전 경험’,‘과정평가’,‘성과평가’와 관련된 범주들이 도출되었다. 특히‘성과평가’에 있어서‘심신건강 및 생활기능 향상’,‘소외와 고립의 최소화’,‘사회성 역량 함양’,‘재활 및 자립능력 배양’,‘미래 발전 가능성 증진’,‘학생 및 보호자의 회복과 성장 동반 체험’,‘인생에 거대한 전환점이 된 성장 징검다리’가 나타나서 캔틴스쿨 운영을 통한 다차원적인 효과를 보여주었다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 혼합연구방법론을 통하여 건강장애청소년을 위한 캔틴스쿨 운영의 효과성을 확증하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of present study was to assess the operational effect of Canteen School for health impaired adolescents outside of school. The present study used mixed methodology, wherein the static group comparison was carried out for the pre-experimental design of quantitative study. The subjects, participated in the present study, comprised health impaired adolescents over 9 years old and below 24 years old, who were distinguished into groups participated and did not participated in Canteen School, for which the surveys, associated with resilience, were carried out respectively from June to September 2018. The two-independent samples t-test was carried out to compare the difference in two-independent samples of students participated and did not participated in Canteen School; and the results obtained from quantitative analysis showed average resilience score of 97.69 points of the group participated in Canteen School, whereas it was 90.50 points for the group of students who did not participated in the Canteen School.
For the qualitative approach, the purposive sampling among non-stochastic sampling methods was selected for participants by which the interviews with 10 health impaired students in Canteen School and 10 parents (guardians) were carried out. The experiences from 20 participants were analyzed using Qualitative Data Analysis of Miles and Huberman. The results obtained from qualitative data analysis rendered categories associated with ‘experience before intervention’, ‘evaluation of educational courses’, and ‘assessment on performance’ etc. In particular, the category of an ‘assessment of performance’ revealed multilateral effects of the operation of Canteen School in terms of the ‘enhancement of psychosomatic health and living function’, ‘minimization of alienation and isolation’, ‘fostering of competence of sociality’, ‘cultivation of capability of rehabilitation and independence’, ‘promotion of (possibility of) future development’, ‘concomitant experience of restoration and growth of both students and parents’, and ‘appearance of stepping stone for growth that became great turning point of life’ etc. Thus, the operational efficacies of Canteen School for health impaired adolescents were demonstrated in the present study through the approach of mixed methodology.
