초록

This paper is prepared for a study on the aspects of acculturation of the Muslim migrants from the Arabic-Islamic countries who are studying in Gwangju city and Jeollanamdo. The first survey on the acculturation of the Muslim students in this area was conducted in 2007 on 136 Muslims from 5 countries. The result of the survey was already presented in 2008. This survey is the 2nd one for the same purpose. The survey is consisted of 88 questions. The number of students participating in the survey is 64 from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia.
In chapter Ⅱ, the situation of the Muslim migrants from the Arabic-Islamic countries is presented. In chapter Ⅲ, the contents of the survey and its way are presented. In chapter Ⅳ, the result of the survey is presented. In comparison with the result of the survey in 2007, the result of the survey in 2010 suggested some good points. They think the learning of Korean language is difficult, but they want friendly relations with Korean friends. They answered the most difficult place of Korean communication is hospital, restaurant and class room. So it is needed some supporter or mentor system in the hospital. As for the Korean wave, they answered Korean government has to prepare more systematic and progressive way of spreading Korean Culture, and promote more concrete networks with Islamic countries. As for the acculturation of the Korean culture, the most important thing they are facing difficulties in everyday life is food and religious problem. This is the same result with 2007 survey. The exchanging cultural programs and cultural experience programs are needed to understand each other.
In conclusion, the Muslim migrants from the Arabic-Islamic countries are changed into more acceptable for the Korean culture. They answered they have held more cultural festivals and Islamic ceremonies than 2007. It means most of them are satisfied with their life in Korea, have become loving Korean food and culture.
