팬데믹 시대, ‘공간’을 주제로 한 글쓰기치료 수업 모형 연구 (A Study of a Sriting Therapy Class Model about “Space” in the Pandemic Era)

초록

본고는 팬데믹 시대, 사회적 거리두기와 관계의 단절 등으로 고립감과 우울감 등을 경험하는 20대들에게 심리적인 도움이 필요하다는 점, 팬데믹 시대, 집안이나 실내 공간에 머무는 시간이 크게 증가한 대학생들에게 ‘공간’에 대한 사유가 필요하다는 두 가지 문제의식을 바탕으로, 팬데믹 시대 ‘공간’을 주제로 한 글쓰기치료 수업 모형을 제시하였다. 4차시로 구성된 본 수업 모델은 글쓰기치료의 4단계 과정에 따라 고안된 모델로, 체베나 쓰기를 통한 무의식 속 공간 탐색(1차시), 나의 기억 속 토포필리아 탐색(2차시), 토포필리아의 공유를 통한 공간의식의 확장(3차시), 현재 나에게 가장 의미 있는 공간 찾기와 소감 쓰기(4차시)의 과정으로 진행되었다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 논의를 이끌어 낼 수 있었다.
첫째, 공간을 주제로 한 글쓰기는 팬데믹 시대, 자신의 리비도가 가장 많이 투영되어 있는 공간을 발견하고, 그 공간에서의 행위와 의미들을 탐색할 수 있게 한다. 둘째, 토포필리아에 대한 글쓰기는 과거의 소중한 공간에 대한 기억과 감정들을 되살아나게 함으로써 공간의 중요성과 공간의 가치를 깨닫게 한다. 셋째, 수업시간에 발표를 통해 공유하는 공간에 대한 기억은 공간에 대한 이해와 깊이를 확장하게 하며, 확장된 공간의식을 바탕으로 현재 자신에게 가장 의미 있는 공간을 탐색하는 활동을 통해 학생들은 자신의 성격과 취향, 자신의 가치관과 삶의 태도 등을 성찰할 수 있다. 넷째, 공간에 대한 글쓰기는 안전하고 조용한 글쓰기 공간 안에서 내면의 억압된 것들을 자유롭게 표출하고, 자신의 생각과 감정들을 정리하게 함으로써 글쓰기의 가치와 치유적 효과를 경험하게 한다.
이처럼 팬데믹 시대, ‘공간을 주제로 한 글쓰기’는 학생들에게 구속과 제약, 답답함이나 무료함 너머, 공간의 다양성과 가능성, 그리고 공간의 소중함과 중요성 등을 탐색할 수 있는 계기를 마련해 줄 수 있으며, 자신이 점유하고 있는 생활공간에 애착을 부여하게 함으로써, 학생들의 주체성 형성에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This paper presents a writing therapy class model of “space” in the pandemic era based on the awareness of two problems. First, psychological help is needed for those in their 20s who experience feelings of isolation and depression due to social distancing and disconnection. Second, college students have significantly increased their time at home or indoors during the pandemic. These problems have in common the fact that selecting “space” is necessary. This class model, which consists of four lessons, is designed according to the four-step process of writing therapy. Chronologically, the process goes as follows: exploration of space in the unconscious through writing Chevena; exploration of topophilia in memory; expansion of spatial consciousness by sharing topophilia; and finding the most meaningful space at present and writing one’s impressions. As a result, we find the following.
First, writing on the subject of space allows one to discover the space where one’s libido is most projected in the pandemic era. It also enables one to explore the actions and meanings in that space. Second, writing about topophilia conveys the importance and value of space by reviving memories and emotions about precious spaces of the past. Third, the memory of the spaces shared through conversation in class expands its understanding and depth. In addition, students can reflect on their personalities, tastes, values, ​​and attitudes toward life through activities that explore the space that is most meaningful to them now. Fourth, writing about space allows students to freely express their inner repressed feelings in a safe and quiet writing space, and by having students organize their thoughts and feelings, they experience the value and healing effect of writing.
Thus, “space-themed writing” in the pandemic era will provide students with an opportunity to explore the diversity, possibilities, specialness, and importance of space, rather than the constraints and restrictions of and stuffiness and boredom brought about by the pandemic. Moreover, by making them attach themselves to the living space that they occupy, it will have a positive effect on the formation of their identity.
