문중 ‘というか’의 분석 -문두 및 문말과의 근접성을 중심으로- (Analyzing 'というか' in Sentences - Focusing on the proximity to the beginning and the end of a sentence -)

초록

본고는 문중에 위치하는 ‘というか’에 대한 문두 및 문말과의 근접성 분석을 통한 이들의 위치적 상이에 초점을 맞추어 문법화와의 관련성을 밝혀보고자 하였다. 본고에서의 데이터 수집 분석 결과, 문의 중간부에 출현한다는 위치적인 공통점을 가지는 ‘というか’ 문들은 문두 및 문말을 기준으로 비교적 관점에서 위치적 상이점이 존재하였으며 이에 따른 언어적 변화 상정이 가능하였다. 따라서 본고는 이와 같은 점에 착안하여 문중에 위치하는 ‘というか’가 문의 시작부와 문의 종결부 중 어디에 더 근접하는가에 대한 문의 위치적 관점에서의 분석 및 고찰을 통하여 문법화와의 관련성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 또한 이와 같은 문중 ‘というか’의 세부적 위치에 대한 효율적인 계량적 판별을 위하여 Stata를 활용한 분석을 시도하였으며 다음과 같은 결과를 도출할 수 있었다. 문중 ‘というか’는 문말보다 문두에 상대적으로 더 근접하게 위치하였으며 문중에서의 세부적인 위치 차이에 따라 의미적으로 상이점이 나타날 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 ‘というか’가 문중에서 문두로 근접해 감에 따라 통어적 관점에서는 비종속적인 요소에서 독립적인 성분으로 의미적․화용적 관점에서는 문자적 의미에서 화자의 담화적․심리적 태도를 나타내는 의미로 전환하고 있다고 하는 문법화에 대한 논리적이며 객관적인 근거가 될 수 있을 것이다. 즉 문중 ‘というか’의 문두 및 문말 근접성에 대한 계량적 분석 결과는 이들의 문법화 정도를 객관적․체계적으로 판별할 수 있는 유용한 자료가 될 수 있는 것이다. 또한 본고에서 제안한 문두 및 문말 근접성을 위한 Stata 활용의 코드 설계는 일본어학 분야 이외의 타언어학 분야에서도 활용할 수 있는 문법화 분석의 도구가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This paper focuses on the positional differences of ‘TOIUKA’ appearing in the middle of a sentence and their proximity to the beginning and end of the sentence, and attempts to reveal their relevance to grammaticalization. As a result of the data collection analysis in this paper, it was found that ‘TOIUKA’ sentences that have the positional commonality of appearing in the middle of a sentence have positional differences in relation to the beginning of the sentence and the end of the sentence, and that linguistic changes can be assumed accordingly. Therefore, based on this, this paper examines the relevance of ‘TOIUKA’to grammaticalization by analyzing and discussing whether ‘TOIUKA’ that appears in the middle of a sentence is closer to the beginning of the sentence or the end of the sentence from a positional perspective. In addition, I tried to analyze the detailed position of ‘TOIUKA’ in the middle of these sentences using Stata for efficient quantitative determination, and the following results were obtained. I found that ‘TOIUKA’ in the middle of the sentence is relatively closer to the beginning of the sentence than to the end of the sentence, and that semantic differences can occur depending on the detailed positioning of ‘TOIUKA’ in the middle of the sentence. This can be a logical and objective basis for the grammaticalization that ‘TOIUKA’ in the middle of the sentence is shifting from a non-dependent element to an independent element from a syntactic and pragmatic point of view as it moves closer to the beginning of the sentence, from a literal meaning to a meaning that indicates the speaker's discursive and psychological attitude. In other words, the results of the quantitative analysis of the proximity of ‘TOIUKA’ to sentence start and sentence end, which is located in the middle of the sentence, can be a useful resource for objectively and systematically determining the degree of grammaticalization of these words. In addition, the code design of Stata for the proximity of sentence start and sentence end proposed in this article can be a tool for
