그린인프라의 사회문화적 지속가능성을 위한 정원문화지수 적용 및 평가 연구 - 순천만국가정원과 태화강국가정원을 중심으로 - (Application & Evaluation of Garden Culture Index for Social-Cultural Sustainability of Green Infrastructure - Focusing on Suncheonman National Garden & Taehwagang National Garden -)

초록

본 연구는 그린인프라의 유․무형적 환경과 자원에 대한 문화적 가치를 파악하기 위한 표준화된 종합 수치인 정원문화지수(garden culture index)를 개발하여 그린인프라의 문화적 가치를 종합적으로 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 정원문화지수를 순천만국가정원과 태화강국가정원을 대상으로 측정하고 고찰하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 순천만국가정원의 정원문화지수 총 평점은 82.2, 태화강국가정원의 정원문화지수의 총 평점은 79.9로 도출되었다. 순천만국가정원의 경우, 특성 항목의 모든 부문에서 유사한 평균값이 도출된 반면, 태화강국가정원의 경우 ‘공간 구조 및 이용 시설의 특성’에서 타 특성 항목 대비 평균 이하의 차이가 나타남을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 구성요소별 평가 결과 순천만국가정원의 경우 ‘사회적 약자를 고려한 디자인 적용’, ‘생물 다양성을 위한 환경 제공’, ‘이웃, 친구, 가족 간의 교류 증대’, ‘자발적 참여 유도’ 등이 평균값 20% 이하로 조사되었고, 평가의 상위 항목은 ‘지역의 랜드마크 역할’, ‘정원문화 확산 및 보급화’, ‘정원규모에 따른 주제정원의 다양성’ 등의 순으로 나타났다. 태화강국가정원의 경우, ‘건물과 정원의 이용관계 여부’, ‘건물/건조물과 정원의 조화성’, ‘정원규모에 따른 주제정원의 다양성’, ‘자발적 참여 유도’ 등이 평균값 20% 이하로 조사되었으며, 평가의 상위 항목으로는 ‘정원을 통한 삶의 질 향상’과 ‘지역의 랜드마크 역할’ 등이 우수한 것으로 도출되었다. 셋째, 독립된 두 집단 간의 독립표본 t-검정을 시행하고 분석하여 대상지 특성에 따른 항목별 평가 차별성의 유․무를 파악하였다. ‘공간구조 및 이용 시설의 특성’, ‘자연소재에 대한 특성’, ‘공간 활용에 대한 특성’, ‘관리 및 가치에 대한 특성’ 등에서는 양자 간의 차별성이 도출되었고, ‘이용객 인식에 대한 특성’은 두 집단 간 평균 차이가 없는 유의수준 5% 이내의 결과가 도출되었다. 이러한 결과는 본 연구에서 제시한 정원문화지수가 대상지 특성 및 구성요소들을 수용하며 차별성을 가지고 평가되었음을 입증하며, 향후 적용 및 활용적 가치를 내재한 것으로 고찰된다.

영어초록

This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the cultural value of green infrastructure by developing the Garden Culture Index, a standardized and comprehensive measure to identify the cultural value of green infrastructure’s tangible and intangible environment and resources. To this end, the Garden Culture Index was measured and examined for The Suncheonman National Garden and Taehwagang National Garden, and the study results are as follows. First, the total score of the Garden Culture Index for The Suncheonman National Garden was 82.2, and the Garden Culture Index for Taehwagang National Garden on the measure was 79.9. For The Suncheonman National Garden, similar average values were derived in all categories evaluated, while for Taehwagang National Garden, ‘Characteristics of spatial structure and facilities’ was lower than the average compared to the other characteristics. Second, the evaluation by each component showed that The Suncheonman National Garden scored below the average value of 20% for ‘applying design considering the socially disadvantaged,’ ‘providing an environment for biodiversity,’ ‘increasing interaction between neighbors, friends, and family,’ and ‘encouraging voluntary participation.’ The top items in the evaluation were ‘serving as a local landmark,’ ‘spreading and popularizing garden culture,’ and ‘diversity of theme gardens by garden size.’ For Taehwagang National Garden, the average value was 20% or less for ‘relationship between building and garden use,’ ‘harmony between building/construction and garden,’ ‘diversity of theme gardens by garden size,’ and ‘encouragement of voluntary participation.’ The top items evaluated were ‘improving the quality of life through the garden’ and ‘serving as a local landmark.’ Third, the study conducted and analyzed an independent sample t-test between two independent groups to determine the existence or absence of differentiation in the evaluation of each item by target garden. The study found that there was a significant difference between the two groups in ‘characteristics of spatial structure and facilities,’ ‘characteristics of natural materials,’ ‘characteristics of space utilization,’ and ‘characteristics of management and value.’ ‘Characteristics of user perception’ was found to be within the 5% significance level with no mean difference between the two groups. These results demonstrate that the Garden Culture Index presented in this study accommodates and differentiates the target garden characteristics and components and that the study has inherent value for future application and utilization.
