중학생의 사이버불링피해 경험이 자살생각에 미치는 영향: 스트레스 대처행동의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Impact of Cyberbullying Victim Experiences on Suicidal Ideation in Middle School Students : The Moderating Effect of Stress Coping Behavior)

초록

본 연구에서는 중학생의 사이버불링피해 경험과 자살생각 관계에서 스트레스 대처행동의 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 서울, 경기 지역 소재의 남녀중학생 1485명(남 814명, 여 671명)의 연구 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 측정 도구로는 사이버불링 피해경험, 스트레스 대처행동, 자살생각 척도가 사용되었고 수집된 자료는 spss 프로그램를 이용하여 분석하였다. 각 척도의 신뢰도와 상관관계를 분석하였고 조절효과를 살펴보기 위해 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 첫째, 사이버불링 피해경험과 자살생각, 사이버불링 피해경험과 공격적 대처행동, 사이버불링 피해경험과 소극/회피적 대처행동, 자살생각과 공격적 대처행동, 자살생각과 소극/회피적 대처행동과는 유의미한 정적상관을, 자살생각과 적극적 대처행동, 자살생각과 사회지지 추구적 대처행동에서는 유의미한 부적상관을 나타내었다. 둘째, 스트레스 대처행동의 하위유형인 공격적 대처행동, 적극적 대처행동, 소극/회피적 대처행동에서 사이버불링 피해경험과 자살생각 사이의 조절효과를 나타냈다. 이 같은 결과를 통해 사이버불링 피해경험과 자살생각 사이에서 스트레스 대처행동의 하위유형인 적극적 대처행동과 소극/회피적 대처행동이 중요한 조절변인이었음을 밝혔다는 데 본 연구의 의의가 있다. 이를 토대로 하여 본 연구의 시사점 및 제한점에 대해서 논의하고 후속 연구에 관하여 제언하였다.

영어초록

This study aimed to examine the moderating effect of stress coping behavior on the relationship between middle school students' cyberbullying victim experiences and suicidal ideation. For this purpose, the survey data from 1485 middle school students(814 male, 671 female) in Seoul and Gyeong-gi area were used for the final analysis. The survey questionnaire was composed of cyberbullying victim experiences scale, stress coping behavior scale, and suicidal ideation scale, and the collected data were analyzed with SPSS. Correlation analysis and reliability test of all the scales were performed, and hierarchial multiple regression analysis were performed to investigate the moderating effect. Additionally, hierarchial multiple regression analysis were performed for the subtypes of the moderating variables which showed significance difference by gender. Also, hierarchial multiple regression analysis were specifically performed for the high-risk group for suicidal ideation.
The results of this study were as follows: first, cyberbullying victim experiences and aggressive coping behavior, cyberbullying victim experiences and passive/avoidant coping behavior, suicidal ideation and aggressive coping behavior, and suicidal ideation and passive/avoidant coping behavior showed significantly positive correlation. Suicidal ideation and aggressive coping behavior and suicidal ideation and social support coping behavior showed significantly negative correlation. Second, aggressive coping behavior, active coping behavior, and passive/avoidant coping behavior, which were the subtypes of stress coping behavior, presented moderating effect on the relation between cyberbullying victim experiences and suicidal ideation.
The results of this study implied that active coping behavior and passive/avoidant coping behavior among the subtypes of stress coping behavior were significant moderating variables on the relation between cyberbullying victim experiences and suicidal ideation. Based on the findings, the implication and limitation of this study were discussed along with the suggestions for future studies.
