발해문자의 성립과 문자론적 특징 (A Study of 'Balhae letters(渤海文字)' and its Trait.)

초록

Balhae letters(渤海文字) were widely known to us for excavation of Balhae's roofing tiles which carved Balhae letters. As a Balhae letter, there are two opinions : the one is Balhae had an original letter and the other is Balhae had not an original letter.
The goal of this study is to investigate a validity of two opinions about Balhae letters and to investigate a validity of Balhae letter from the viewpoint of graphonomy.
The conclusions that I investigated in this study is as follows : Balhae had its own letters and its own orthography system which were written by the Chinese characters or similar one. Balhae letters had similar features like the letter system of 'Old Korean(Silla Dynasty, 新羅時代)' which was used by Chinese character and by some mark what is called 'Chajapyogi(借字表記)', especially 'symbolic Gugeol(符號口訣)'. And there are three type of Balhae letters which are consist of the same type of Chinese letter, the different type of Chinese letter, the type of symbolic letter. Thus, I propose that the history of Korean alphabet must have the contents of Balhae letters in detail.
