『사회 ․ 문화』 교과서의 사회 명목론/사회 실재론 관련 논의에 대한 비판적 고찰 (A Critical Study on Social Nominalism and Social Realism in the Society and Culture Textbooks)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 사회학의 역사적 맥락에서 사회 명목론/사회 실재론 논의가 갖는 의의를 체계적으로 가르치기 위해 사회 ․ 문화 교과서의 관련 내용을 비판적으로 분석하고 개선점을 제안하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 문헌 연구를 통해 사회 명목론/사회 실재론 논의의 역사적 성격을 추적하고, 이를 바탕으로 6차 교육과정 및 2015 개정 교육과정의 사회 ․ 문화 교과서를 비교하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 2015 개정 교육과정의 교과서는 다음과 같은 문제점을 보여주었다. 사회 명목론/사회 실재론 논의의 사회학적 위상을 다루지 않고 있으며, 사상적 배경으로 사회계약설과 사회유기체설을 소개하고 있지만 사회 명목론/사회 실재론 논의와의 구체적 연관성을 설명하지 않고 있다. 또한 사회 명목론/사회 실재론 논의를 사회학적 의의가 상실된 존재론적 차원에서 접근하는 문제점도 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하 기 위하여, 본 연구는 역사적 구성물로서 사회 명목론 및 사회 실재론 논의의 복원, 사회 명목론/사회 실재론의 사상적 배경으로서 사회계약설 및 사회유기체설 관련 내 용의 재정비, 그리고 존재론적 차원이 아닌 이론적·방법론적 차원에서 사회 명목론/사 회 실재론 논의의 재구성을 제안하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to critically analyze the contents of social nominalism and social realism in the society and culture textbooks and make some suggestions in order to systematically teach their significance from the historical context of sociology. For that purpose, this study, using the method of literature research, traced the historical characters of the debates on social nominalism and social realism, and attempted a comparative analysis of them in the society and culture textbooks under the 6th and the 2015 revised curriculums. As the result of analysis, some problems were found in the society and culture textbooks of the 2015 revised curriculum as follows. They did not addressed social nominalism and social realism in relation with scientific status of sociology, and provided us with little explanation of concrete relations of social nominalism and social realism to theories of social contract and social organism although the textbooks introduced the latter as a background of thoughts. We found another problem coming from the ontological approach to social nominalism and social realism, which had already lost sociological significance. In order to solve those problems, this study suggested restoring social nominalism and social realism as a historical construction, rearticulating the contents related with theories of social contract and social organism as a background of thoughts, and highlighting not ontological but theoretical and methodological dimensions of social nominalism and social realism.
