상상력의 체질적 층위* -黃眞伊와 松伊 시조의 체질적 상상력 고찰- (Constitution and imagination)

초록

이 글은 문학 작품에 내재해 있는 체질적 상상력과 이를 언어화하는 방식에 대한 연구다. 체질은 유형적 경향성[typological tendency]이다. 그것은 ‘우주-사회-가문-개인’을 지향하는 층위[時空]다. 이 중의 특정한 시공을 지향하는 주체를 각각 태양인, 소양인, 태음인, 소음인이라 한다. 태양인은 우주적 상상력, 소양인은 사회적 상상력, 태음인은 가문적 상상력, 소음인은 개체적 상상력이 뛰어나다. 그런 성향은 폐비간신(肺脾肝腎)의 대소(大小)에서 결정된다. 폐비간신은 세상을 인식하는 틀[frame]이다. 이것은 공사(公私)의 분기점이고, idealism과 realism으로 구체화 된다. 음인은 수신제가(修身齊家)를, 양인은 치국평천하(治國平天下)를 중시한다. 상상력은 ‘修↔不修’, ‘齊↔不齊’, ‘治↔不治’, ‘平↔不平’의 국면에서 생겨난다. 체질은 이러한 특정 방향을 선호한 결과다. 그로 인해 항상성을 유지한다. 어제의 그를 오늘의 그로 인식하고, 내일의 그를 예측하게 한다.
우리 내부에는 모든 체질이 내재해 있다. 상황에 따라, 사건에 따라 출몰한다. 우리 삶이 다양성을 지니는 이유도 여기에 있다. 다만, 가장 많이 나타나는 주체[체질]에 의해 영향을 받고, 가려져 있을 뿐이다. 이리 보면 우연도 필연[체질]의 소산이다. 상상력은 이러한 몸의 질서를 바탕으로 현상과 그 너머를 그리거나 심연을 헤아리는 능력이다. 그것은 이목비구(耳目鼻口)로 구체화 된다. 이목비구(耳目鼻口)는 감관을 지칭하는 말이 아니다. 외물을 잇는 몸의 통로이자 이를 포착하는 렌즈다. 원관념[Tenor]은 macro와 micro다. 이들은 폐비간신(肺脾肝腎)의 강도(强度)에 따라 피사체의 크기와 위치가 달라진다. 같이 보더라도[시선] 포착하는 지점[응시]이 각각이다. 체질적 사유는 프레임과 초점을 유형화 한다. 여기서 나온 이미지는 응시의 산물이다. 체질은 일률(一律)을 강화하기 때문이다. 그래서, 체질적 상상력은 개성인 동시에 타성이다. 그 자체에 동일성 사고와 비동일성 사고가 혼재해 있다. 삶과 문학은 이 모순율 위에 남은 흔적이다.
이러한 논지를 황진이와 송이의 시조에 적용한다. 두 사람이 산 시대는 달랐다. 하지만 신분이 같고, 전하는 작품도 많고, 수준도 뛰어나며, 원작 시비도 있다. 체질적 상상력으로 이들의 작품이 어떻게 비슷하고 다르며, 또 같은 작가의 작품끼리도 어떻게 비슷하고 다른지를 살핀다.

영어초록

The object of this article is to clarify the imagination is a product of the ‘Constitution.’ The constitution is a typological tendency. It is a dimension directed toward ‘Universe–Society–Family–Individual.’ Among these, a particular directional subjects are called Taeyang-in(person), Soyang-in, Taeum-in and Soyang-in. Taeyang-in regards Universal imagination important and Soyang-in regards Social imagination important where as Taeyang-in values Family imagination and Soyang-in values Individual imagination. This tendency is determined by the size of lung, liver, pancreas and kidneys. These organs are metaphors of frames that recognize the world. The frames create the line between public and private. That can be categorized as idealism and realism. Um-in[陰人]'s tendency toward ‘self-enriching’ and ‘harmonizing the family’ (private/realism) is differ from Yang-in[陽人]'s tendency toward ‘govern the society ‘ and ‘delivering the peace’ (public/idealism). Imagination is a byproduct of interaction between self-enriching and none self-enriching, harmony of family and none harmony of family, govern and none govern, peace and none peace. The Constitution is a habit that prefers a particular frame above. Therefore maintains continuity of the body. The fact we can recognize a person of yesterday as person of today and let us guessing the person of tomorrow is an effect of Constitutional thinking.
However, within each of us exist all type of Constitution. It dictates itself according to a situation and an event. That is the reason for our lives to have many variables. The only fact is that it is most affected by the most frequent type of subject (Constitution) and hidden. In this point of view, coincident is a product of incident (Constitution). The imagination is an ability that is based upon order of the Physical Constitution to go beyond reality. This becomes concrete with ears, eyes, nose and mouth. Ears, eyes nose and mouth is not words for senses but passages and lenses that connect outer world. The tenor equals macro and micro. According to the strength of each lung, pancreas, liver and kidneys, the object's position and focus is changed. The Constitutional thinking patternizes frames and focus. The image that is reflected is a product of gazing. It not only has its own characteristics but also has similarities. It is the same among people with the same Constitution. It is because the constitution strengthens a rule. Therefore, the Constitution is individual-ness at the same time otherness. Within it, coexists similarity and none-similarity. The life and literature is a remaining mark of this contradiction.
I am applying this observation to poetry of Whang Jin-i and Song-i. Two authors were from different eras but they were the same class and left abundant body of quality work. With Constitutional thinking, this article examines above matters.
