포스트 코로나 시대의 신학과 교회 - 레위기의 정결법(레 11-15)을 중심으로 - (Theology and Church in the Post-Corona Era: Focusing on Laws on Ritual Purity (Leviticus 11-15))

초록

2020년 3월 12일 WHO의 팬데믹 선언 이래, 현재 3년 동안 인류가 겪은 고난은 인류 역사 속에 반복되어 온 전염병 발생의 또 다른 예이다. 과학만능주의 신화가 여전한 탈종교 시대에 발생한 팬데믹에 대한 대처와 그 과정에서 발생한 트라우마 치유를 위한 노력으로 버거워하는 현실 속 문제를 진단하면서 이 논문은 포스트 코로나 시대 신학과 교회가 실천하고 선포해야 할 바를 레위기의 정결법(레 11-15) 속 피부병 환자 규례에 비추어 논의한다.
먼저 이 글은 레위기가 창조 질서의 유지에 관한 제사장의 신학을 반영하고 있음을 토대로 현재의 팬데믹과 관련한 정결법은 창조 원리를 역사에 구현하는 기능을 하는 것으로 전망한다. 이어서 코로나 펜데믹 초기 질병 자체가 주는 고통 외에 인간의 부정 편향과 인지편향을 통해 가중된 고통의 원인을 지적하며 부가적 고통이 제의적 정결과 윤리적 정결이라는 정결의
이중적 차원에 대한 무지에서 발생한 것으로 진단한다. 레위기 11-15장 속 정결법의 정결과 부정은 윤리와 도덕적 죄의 문제와 무관하다. 즉 제의적 부정에 속하는 바 피부병을 다루는 레위기 13-14장에는 죄나 죄의 고백이 나타나지 않는다. 다음으로 이 글은 레위기 13-14장의 본문 분석을 통해 정결법의 관심사를 밝힌다. 정결법은 피부병 원인에 대한 과학적 추적이 아니라 피부병과 부정함이 낳는 결과와 병이 가져온 현실에 대한 대처에 관심을 둔다. 특히 피부병의 원인을 죄로 명시하지 않으며 격리만이 아니라 회복된 사람이 본래의 삶의 자리로 돌아오는 것에 주의를 집중한다. 정결법 제정의 목표는 부정에서 정결로, 혼돈과 무질서에서 질서로 회복에 있다. 또한 이 글은 문서화된 정결법의 제한성을 지적하고 이를 극복하기 위한
해결책을 욥의 항변을 토대로 제시한다. 정결법이 심한 피부병 환자의 궁극적 복귀를 최종적지향점으로 삼고 있으나 현실적으로 제사장이 정결을 선포하기 전까지 그 환자는 기다리는 방법밖에 선택의 여지가 없었다. 즉 성경이 제시하는 이상(부정에 대한 신학적 개념)과 독자의 현실(인식) 사이에는 간격이 있음과 때로 인식의 부조화 현상이 발생함을 인식하고 이해할 필요가 있다.
교회와 신학이 제의적 부정과 관련해 죽음의 경계와 사회 안에 있는 차별의 경계를 뛰어넘어야 하며 윤리적 부정과 관련해 자신과 피조 세계와의 간격을 인지하고 하나님의 새 창조의 현실로 채워 나가야 한다. 진영 밖에 격리되어 외로움과 절망 가운데 있는 사람들에게 하나님의 창조 질서 아래에 이루어지는 하나님의 치유라는 희망을 전달하고 몸과 마음의 건강을 회
복시켜야 할 교회의 사명을 제시한다.

영어초록

Since the WHO declared Pandemic on March 12, 2020, the hardships humanity experiences in the past three years are another example of a recurring epidemic in human history. Diagnosing the challenging reality of dealing with the pandemic in the post-corona era and trying to heal trauma in the process, this paper discusses what theology and the church should practice and proclaim in the light of the regulations of skin disease in Leviticus 13-14.
First of all, this article reflects the priestly theology maintaining a creative order, and predicts that laws on ritual purity having relations with the current Pandemic functions to embody creative principles in history. In addition to the pain caused by the disease in the early stages of the COVID-19, this paper points out the cause of increasing pain through human negative cognitive bias and diagnoses that the additional pain occurred from the ignorance of the double dimension of ritual and moral impurity. Purity and impurity in Leviticus 11-15 is irrelevant to the problem of ethical and moral sin. In other words, there is no confession of sin in Leviticus 13-14 that deals with skin diseases belonging to ritual denial. Next, this article reveals the interests of the laws on ritual purity by analyzing the text of Leviticus 13-14. This laws focus not on scientific tracking of the cause of skin diseases, but on coping with their consequences and reality that these diseases have brought. In particular, the cause of skin disease is not specified as sin, and attention is focused not only on isolation but on the return of the recovered person to his or her original place of life. The goal of enacting the laws on purity is to recover from impurity to purity, and from disorder to order. In addition, this article points out the limitations of purity laws and presents a solution to overcome them based on Job’s case. Although the ultimate goal of the purity laws is to recover patients, in reality, they had no choice but to wait until the priest declares their purification. In other words, it is necessary to recognize and understand that there is a gap between the ideals (theological concept of impurity) presented in the Bible and the reality of the reader.
Church and theology should overcome the boundaries of death and discrimination in society in relation to ritual impurity, recognize the gap between themselves and the created world in relation to ethical impurity, and fill it with the reality of God’s new creation. The laws on ritual purity convey the hope of God's healing under God’s creative order to those who are isolated from the camp and are in loneliness and despair, and present the church's mission to restore the health of human body and mind.
