유아의 배려행동과 어머니의 정서표현성 및 자녀 또래관계 관리전략 간 관계 (The Relationships between Young Children's Caring Behaviors and Mothers’ Emotional Expressiveness/ Management Strategies for Their Young Children's Peer Relationships)

초록

본 연구에서는 유아의 배려행동과 어머니의 정서표현성 및 자녀 또래관계 관리전략 간 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 4, 5세 유아 253명이었다. 이 연구를 위해 유아 배려행동 척도(한명숙, 2013), 어머니의 정서표현성 척도(여은진, 2009) 그리고 어머니의 자녀 또래관계 관리전략 척도(박주희, 2001)를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 상관관계 분석과회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여아가 남아보다 배려행동을 유의미하게 더 많이 하였다. 둘째, 어머니의 긍정적 정서표현과 유아의 배려행동 간에 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있었고 어머니의 부정적 정서표현과 유아의 배려행동 간에 유의미한 부적 상관관계가 있었다. 또한 어머니의 자녀 또래관계 관리전략 중 중재·감독 전략과 조언·관심 전략은 모두 유아의 배려행동과 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 셋째, 어머니의 긍정적 정서표현과 중재·감독 또래관계관리전략, 그리고 유아의 성별은 유아의 배려행동을 예측하는 변인이었다. 따라서 유아의 배려행동증진을 위해 어머니는 가족생활이나 유아와의 상호작용 시 긍정적 정서를 풍부히 표출하고 적극적으로 유아가 원만한 또래관계를 형성하고 유지할 수 있도록 지원해야 할 것이다.

영어초록

The present study aimed to examine the relationships between young children's caring behaviors and their mothers’ emotional expressiveness/management strategies for young children's peer relationships. The subjects of the study were 253 children aged four and five years. In order to measure the young children's caring behaviors, the mothers’ emotional expressiveness and management strategies for their young children's peer relationships, scale for Young Children's Caring Behaviors'(Han Myeong-suk, 2013), scale for Mothers’ Emotional Expressiveness(Yeo Eun-Jin, 2009) and scale for Mothers’ Management Strategies for Their Children's Peer Relationships(Park Ju-hee, 2001) were administered. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, girls scored significantly higher than boys in caring behaviors. Second, mothers’ emotional expression had significant positive correlations with young children's caring behaviors while mothers’ negative emotional expression had significant negative correlations with young children's caring behaviosr. Also the intervention and supervision strategies and advice and attention strategies as mothers’ management strategies for their children's peer relationships had significant positive correlations with young children's caring behaviors. Third. the mothers’ emotional expression and the intervention and supervision strategies for their children's peer relationships explained about 30% young children's caring behaviors. In conclusion, to enhance children’s caring behaviors mothers need to express positive emotion in family life, especially in interactions with their young children and support for their children to have chances interacting with peers and making and keeping peer relationships.
