초록

삶과 죽음은 철학의 근본 문제이다. 따라서 만성적 자살증후군에 시달리고있는 우리 시대에 있어서 죽음의 비극적 형태인 자살에 대한 검토와 더불어이를 예방할 수 있는 실존적 토대인 자활에 대한 검토는 철학의 근본적인 과제중에 하나일 수밖에 없다. 이를 위하여 논자는 삶과 죽음에 대한 니체의 철학적담론을 재검토해 보고자 한다. 니체는 키에르케고어나 쇼펜하우어와 마찬가지로 삶과 죽음의 경계를 밀도 있게 탐색하였던 삶의 철학자이자 죽음의 철학자이다. 특히 그는 삶을 죽음으로 전환하는 파괴적인 힘과 동시에 죽음을 삶으로전환하기도 하는 창조적 힘을 지니기도 하는 화학적 촉매제와도 같은 허무주의(Nihilismus)의 양면성을 통찰함으로써 현대인들의 병리적 증후들의 원인을규명하였던 철학자인 동시에 그 병리적 현상의 진단을 토대로 그것의 치유적가능성을 치열하게 고민하였던 철학자였다. 이와 같은 의미에서 니체는 모던사회의 허무주의라고 하는 시대적 증후와 그것의 극복에 대한 철학적 검토에 탁월한 철학자로 평가될 수 있다.
논자는 현대인의 자살, 나아가 그 이면에서 작동하는 현대인의 삶에의 의지의 약화와 죽음에의 의지의 강화에 대한 진단과 처방의 관점에서 니체의 사상을재구성하여 보고자 한다. 이를 논자는 모던시대의 낙관론에 쐬기를 박았던 포스트-모던적 니체의 비판적이고 해체적인 수용의 저변을 이루고 있었던 니체의감성 철학을 다시 한 번 환기함으로써 시도해보고자 한다. 이를 위하여 모던사회의 대안으로서 포스트-모던적 니체의 모습을 넘어서 오히려 이 포스트-모던사회에 대한 대안으로서 프리-모던적 사유에 대한 니체의 통찰을 『비극의 탄생』에 대한 주목을 통하여 밝혀볼 것이다.
모던 시대나 포스트모던 시대에 있어서처럼 허무주의나 데카당스와 유사한증후를 갖고 있었음에도 불구하고 이에 병들기보다는 오히려 이에 대한 대안을모색하고 수행해온 것으로 니체가 발굴한 새로운 사례, 대안 철학적 사례는고대 그리스 문화이다. 그러나 이것은 서구 지성사가 주목한 저 이성주의의메카의 모습과는 전혀 다른 고대 그리스의 이면이다. 고대 그리스 문화에 대한니체의 조명에 대한 재검토는 우리시대의 집단적 증후인 자살에 대한 ‘철학적부검’이나 ‘철학적 알리바이’ 입증을 넘어서 철학적 질병의 결과로서 철학적자살을 예방하고 치료한 사례에 대한 재발굴 작업이기도 하다. 이와 같은 니체의 재구성을 통하여 논자는 포스트-모던 사회에서 발생하고 있는 철학적 자살로부터 철학적 자활로의 반전 가능성의 모티브를 모색해보고자 한다.

영어초록

Life and death are a basic question of the philosophy. Therefore, in our times when we suffer from a chronic suicide syndrome, the review of suicide,the tragic form of death and the review of self-support, the existential foundation to prevent it must be one of fundamental assignments of philosophy. For this purpose, this writer intends to reexamine Nietzsche’s philosophical discourse regarding life and death. Nietzsche like Kierkegaard or Schopenhauer is a philosopher of life and death who inquired into the border of life and death intensively.
Especially, he had a destructive power to convert life into death and also a creative power to convert death into life, had an insight into the double face of nihilism(Nihilismus) like a chemical catalyst, and at length he is a typical philosopher who investigated the cause of a pathological symptom of modern people and also a philosopher who brooded on its curative possibility intensely based on the diagnosis of the pathological phenomenon. In this sense Nietzsche can be evaluated as an excellent philosopher in the periodic symptom of nihilism of modern society and the philosophical investigation in its conquest.
This arguer is going to reconstruct Nietzschean thought in the viewpoint of the diagnosis and prescription about modern people’s suicide, further the weakening of will-to-life and the strengthening of will-to-death of modern people operating behind. In this attempt, this writer intends to draw attention again to Nietzsche’s sensibility philosophy underlying Nietzsche’s post-modern critical and deconstructive acceptance which hammered the wedge into the modern times optimism. For this purpose, going beyond post-modern Nietzschean figure as an alternative of modern society, we might as well clarify Nietzsche’s insight on pre-modern thinking as an alternative as to post-modern society through the attention to Die Geburt der Tragödie.
There were times when we suffered from the similar symptom as Nihilism or décadence as modern times or post-modern times. And Nietzsche groped for an alternative thereto instead of being sick therefrom, and we hereby kept a close eye on a new case, an alternative philosophical example. And it is Nietzsche’s excavation on the hidden side of ancient Greece totally different from the ancient Greek culture, but the image of the Mecca of that rationalism the Western intellectual history noticed. Our reexamination into Nietzsche’s lighting on the ancient Greek culture is also the re-excavation work as to the case to have prevented and cured a philosophical suicide as the result of a philosophical disease beyond ‘philosophical autopsy’ or ‘philosophical alibi’proof about suicide which is a collective symptom in our times. Through such Nietzschean reconstitution this writer intends to grope for a motive of reversal possibility from philosophical suicide occurring in post-modern society to philosophical self-support.
