Q방법론 적용을 위한 전문상담교사 역량에 관한 탐색연구: 중고등학교교사의 FGI를 중심으로 (An exploratory study on the competencies of professional counselors for applying Q Methodology: Focused on FGI of middle and high school teachers)

초록

목적 본 연구는 중고등학교 교사를 대상으로 표적집단인터뷰(FGI:Focus Group Interview)를 통해 주관적이고 개별적인 전문상담교사의 역량에 대한 인식을 파악하여 Q방법론 적용을 위한 Q모집단 구성의 기초자료를 제공하는데 연구의 목적이 있다.
방법 이를 위하여 중고등학교 내의 전문상담교사 현황을 파악하고 전문상담교사의 역량에 관한 문헌연구를 실시하였으며 서울, 경기 지역의 중고등학교 교사를 대상으로 FGI(Focus Group Interview)를 실시하여 Giorgi(1985)가 제시한 네 가지 현상학적 분석방법 적용과 삼각검증(triangulation)을 통한 자료를 분석하고 그 결과를 제시하였다.
결과 분석결과, 첫째, 학생들의 다양한 심리적 문제와 부적응 문제가 증가하고 있는 현 중고등학교 상황에서 전문상담교사의 증원이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 둘째, 전문상담교사의 전문성 증진이 필요하다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학교 내 전문상담교사의 역할과 관련된 문제로 학교 내 구성원들과 전문상담교사의 갈등이 일어나고 있다고 인식하여 전문상담교사의 명확한 역할확립이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 넷째, 전문상담교사의 지위 강화와 처우개선이 필요하다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 전문상담교사의 자격과 채용 기준에 대한 개편이 필요하다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다.
결론 따라서 중고등학교 내 전문상담교사의 원활한 직무수행을 위해 전문상담교사의 전문성 증진과 전문상담교사의 학교 내 지위, 처우 개선 및 권한에 대한 정책적, 제도적인 지원이 필요하다고 판단된다. 이러한 연구결과는 중고등학교 내 전문상담교사의 역할과 직무 정립을 위한 기초자료로 제공되길 기대한다.

영어초록

Objectives This study aims to identify the perceptions of middle and high school teachers regarding the subjective and individual competencies of professional counselors through focus group interviews(FGI). The findings will provide foundational data for forming a Q sample for the application of Q methodology.
Methods To achieve this, we identified the current status of professional counselors in middle and high schools, conducted a literature study on the capabilities of professional counselors, and conducted FGI(Focus Group Interviews) targeting middle and high school teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi regions, and Giorgi(1985) Data were analyzed through the application of the four presented phenomenological analysis methods and triangulation, and the results were presented.
Results The analysis results revealed the following findings: First, there is a recognized need for an increase in the number of professional counselors due to the rising psychological issues and maladjustment problems among students in current secondary schools. Second, there is a perceived necessity for enhancing the professionalism of professional counselors. Third, conflicts have arisen between school members and professional counselors, indicating the need for a clear establishment of the counselors' roles within the school. Fourth, there is a recognition of the need to strengthen the status and improve the treatment of professional counselors. Fifth, there is a perceived need for a revision of the qualifications and recruitment standards for professional counselors.
Conclusions Therefore, in order for professional counselors in middle and high schools to perform their duties smoothly, it is judged that policy and institutional support is needed to enhance the expertise of professional counselors and to improve the status, treatment, and authority of professional counselors in schools. It is hoped that these research results will serve as basic data for establishing the roles and duties of professional counselors in middle and high schools.
