독립운동가들의 문집 현황 실태 고찰 (Research of the books of independence activists’ anthologies)

초록

본 논문은 2021년 2월 28일 현재까지 독립유공자로 지정된 16,410명 가운데 한문으로 문집을 남긴 현황의 실태를 고찰한 것이다. 그들의 문집을 고찰한 결과 총 233종의 문집이 확인되었다. 이는 전체 독립유공자의 1.41%에 불과한 것으로, 독립유공자들이 남긴 문집이 그만큼 희소가치가 있음을 의미한다. 다만 보다 완벽한 자료 검증이 어려웠던 이유는 국가보훈처에서 제공하고 있는 공훈전자사료관의 독립유공자 공적 조서의 자료에 오류가 많이 발견되고, 국립중앙도서관에서 제공되는 저자 등에 대한 정보 또한 오류가 제법 발견되기 때문이다. 따라서 국가기관에서 제공되는 자료를 전체적으로 재정리를 하고, 문중에 필사본으로 소장하고 있는 자료까지 모두 발굴한다면 독립운동가들이 남긴 문집은 지금보다 훨씬 더 많이 확보될 것임에 틀림없다.
독립운동가들의 남겨진 문집의 수는 권역별로 차이가 있다. 경상북도가 86종으로 가장 많고, 이어서 경상남도 31종, 전라남도 25종, 충청북도 21종, 전라북도 20종, 충청남도 19종, 경기도 11종, 강원도 9종, 평안북도와 황해도가 각각 3종, 서울이 2종, 함경남도와 함경북도가 각각 1종, 그리고 미상이 1종 순이다. 이는 본적을 기준으로 독립운동가들을 분류했을 때 경상북도 2,279명, 충청남도 1,455, 경기도 1,422, 경상남도 1,333, 전라남도 1,266, 평안북도 1,257, 전라북도 1,073, 평안남도 912명, 함경남도 773명, 황해도 699명, 강원도 656명, 충청북도 531명, 함경북도 437명, 서울 435명, 제주도 188명, 그밖에 세부적인 본적지는 확인되지 않고 출신지 道만 확인되는 황해도 32명, 평안도 13명, 경상도 5명, 충청도 4명, 함경도 2명을 다 합친다고 해도 본적지 인원수와 문집의 수가 비례하는 것이 아님이 확인되었다.
본 논문을 바탕으로 그동안 독립유공자들의 활약상에만 집중되던 연구가 독립운동가들이 남긴 문집을 통해 그들의 정신의 근간 및 문학적 역량까지 확대될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 그러한 점에서 독립운동가들의 문집 현황의 실태를 고찰한 결과를 표로 제시해 연구자들에게 소개한 본 논문은 의미가 있다.

영어초록

This thesis examines the current state of anthologies in Chinese characters among 16,410 persons of merit for independence as of February 28, 2021. As a result of examining their collections, a total of 233 types of collections were identified. This is only 1.41% of the total independence fighters, which means that the collections of writings left by the independence fighters are of that much scarce value. However, the reason that a more complete data verification was difficult is because there are a lot of errors in the data of the public records of people of independence merit provided by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the National Library of Korea. Therefore, if the materials provided by the national institutions are rearranged as a whole and all the materials kept as manuscripts in the family are excavated, there is no doubt that the collections of literature left by the independence activists will be much more secured than now.
The number of literature collections left by independence activists varies from region to region. Gyeongsangbuk-do has the most with 86 species, followed by Gyeongsangnam-do with 31 species, Jeollanam-do with 25 species, Chungcheongbuk-do with 21 species, Jeollabuk-do with 20 species, Chungcheongnam-do with 19 species, Gyeonggi-do with 11 species, Gangwon-do with 9 species, North Pyongan Province and Hwanghae-do with 3 species each, Seoul with 2 species and South and North Hamgyong Province each have one collection, and unknown is 1 collection. According to the classification of independence activists based on their birth records, Gyeongsangbuk -do 2,279, Chungcheongnam-do 1,455, Gyeonggi-do 1,422, Gyeongsangnam-do 1,333, Jeollanam-do 1,266, North Pyongan Province 1,257, Jeollabuk-do 1,073, South Pyongan Province 912, Hamgyeongnam-do 773, Hwanghae-do 699, Gangwon-do 656 , North Chungcheong Province 531 people, North Hamgyeong Province 437 people, Seoul 435 people and Jeju Island 188 persons were. In addition, it was confirmed that the number of persons and the number of collections were not proportional even if the unconfirmed but considered domicile 32 people from Hwanghae-do, 13 people from Pyeongan-do, 5 people from Gyeongsang-do, 4 people from Chungcheong-do, and 2 people from Hamgyeong-do are added.
Based on this thesis, it is expected that the research, which has been focused only on the activities of independence fighters, will be able to expand to the basis of their spirit and literary competence through the collections of articles left by independence activists. In this regard, this paper, which is presented to researchers by presenting the results of examining the current state of the literature of independence activists as a table, is meaningful.
