초록

이 글은 유신기 시 비평을 민주주의적 가치와 의미의 관점에서 살펴본다. 『창작과비평』 및 『문학과지성』은 파시즘의 확산에 맞서 문학의 정치성과 자율성을 확장하기 위한 투쟁을 부단히 수행했다. 나는 이것을 단순히 체제 변혁의 관점보다는 하위주체가 자신들의 은폐된 삶의 의미와 가치를 재구성하는 본원적 실존의 기획으로 파악한다. 이를 위해 먼저 ‘창비’와 ‘문지’의 언어의식에 주목하였다. 창비파는 하위주체들의 생활어, 다시 말해 ‘민중언어’를 해방의 언어이자 ‘더 나은 삶’의 자연어로 동시에 전유하였다. 이런 문학적 실천은 백낙청 등의 비평적 전언과 시인들의 민중언어의 구현이 서로를 포괄하고 종합하는 형식으로 진행되었다. 그런 만큼 민중정서의 개성적 점묘보다는 사회변혁을 위한 집단적 파토스의 재현이 중요했다. 이에 반해 문지파는 방법적 언어의 실천에 중심을 두었다. 김현은 주체와 대상의 관계성 및 차이성에 대한 동시적 표현을 감싸 안음의 미학으로 명제화했다. 다음으로 ‘민중언어’와 ‘방법적 언어’가 실천되고 의미화 되는 방식을 『창작과비평』 및 『문학과지성』에 실린 시비평을 중심으로 계보화 하였다. 여기서는 단순히 창비파와 문지파의 이념과 개성을 재확인하기보다, 비평적 실천이 해당 미학적 집단의 이념과 언어 지향을 구체화하고 설파하는 정치적 행위의 일종임을 확인하고자 하였다. 이런 시대정신의 활달함과 조망의 넓이를 보다 확장하기 위해 유종호의 교양주의와 김우창의 심미적 이성에 대한 검토를 결론으로 삼았다. ‘다중적 평등의 자유 혹은 개성적 차이의 자유’라는 본고의 제목은 유신기 시비평이 미래에 성취할 미학적 가치와 목표의 바탕이 되었음을 드러내기 위해 선택되었다.

영어초록

This article examines poetic criticism in the period of Yusin (the 1970’s) from the aspects of democratic value and significance. Both Changjakkwabipyung and Munhakkwajisung have performed restless struggles to expand literary politicity and autonomy confronting the propagation of fascism. This researcher regards this not simply with the perspective systemic revolution but as the planning of primary existence for subordinate subjects to reconstruct their concealed meaning and value of life. For this, the researcher focuses on the consciousness of language of both ‘Changjakkwabipyung’ and ‘Munhakkwajisung’ first. The ‘CHANGBI school’ exclusively possesses the language for life of subordinate subjects, that is, the ‘folklore language’ as natural language for ‘better life’ as well as language for liberation. This literary practice was performed in a way that the critical messages of those including Baek, Nak Cheong and the poets’ realization of folklore language include and synthesize each other. Thus, it was more crucial to reproduce collective pathos for social revolution rather than to do individual depiction of folklore emotion. Meanwhile, the ‘Munhakkwajisung school’ was focused on practicing methodological language. Kim, Hyeon made a proposition with the aesthetics to embrace simultaneous expression regarding the relationship and difference of the subject and object. Next, this study devised the pedigree of the way to practice and signify ‘folklore language’ and ‘methodological language’ centering around poetic criticism published in Changjakkwabipyung and Munhakkwajisung. Here, this study intends to verify critical practice is a kind of political behavior to concretize and elucidate the ideological and linguistic pursuit of the proper aesthetic group rather than simply to reexamine the ideology and individuality of the ‘Changjakkwabipyung schools’ and ‘Munhakkwajisung schools’. In order to increase the activeness of that periodic spirit and the width of the prospect, this study takes as its conclusion the examination on Ryu, Jong Ho’s culturalism and Kim, Woo Chang’s aesthetic reason. The subject of this article, ‘The freedom of multiple equality or the freedom of individual difference’ was chosen so as to show that poetic criticism in the period of Yusin was based on the aesthetic value and goal to be achieved in the future.
