초록

15세기는 중국 역대 경덕진 도자발전사 중 가장 특수한 시기를 맞은 시기이기도 하다. 바로 正統，景泰，天順시기로 약29년간의 세 왕조 시기 (1435-1464)이다. 당시 明代 내부적으로 정치적혼란을 겪으면서 정부에 의해 경덕진 관요 운영이 정지가 된다. 이 시기를 훗날 학자들에 의해 ‘공백기 (空白期)’ 혹은 ‘암흑기 (暗黑期)’ 라 규정되어 불려지게 되었다. 하지만 현재까지 발굴된 유물이나 각 박물관에 소장된 이 시기 청화백자가 기존 관요의 양식과 달라 지금까지도 학계에서는여러 학자들에 의해 당시 관요의 운영여부에 관한 논쟁이 끊이질 않고 있다. 한편으로는 짧은 29년의 시간과 제작된 도자의 질 낮은 상품성 가치, 그리고 극히 한정된 문헌 사료 (史料) 때문에 중국도자 연구가들 사이에서조차 객관적이고도 올바른 평가가 사실상 이루어 지지 않고 있는 실정이다.
본 연구는 15세기 중기에 일어났던 관요의 ‘암흑기’ 현상과 당시 제작된 경덕진 청화백자에 관한 연구이며, 명대 관요의 암흑기 현상과 당시 제작된 경덕진 청화백자의 양식 특징과 편년 체계를밝히고자 하였다. 이에, 일차적으로 암흑기 전후 시기인 선덕과 성화시기 청화백자와의 특징을 비교 분석하였고, 또한 동시기의 또 다른 관요였던 용천요 (龍泉窯)와의 상관관계에 대해서도 주목하여 당시 보편적인 유행 양식을 알아보고자 하였다. 이 외에 암흑기 시기 기타 예술인 회화와 특히 이 시기 대표 공예품인 경태란 (掐絲琺琅)과의 비교 분석을 통해 암흑기 청화백자만이 가지고있는 시대적 특징을 밝혀내고자 하였다. 이렇게 규명된 시대적 특징을 근거로 암흑기 시기 청화백자의 구체적 편년 (編年) 기준을 제시할 수 있었고, 아울러 그 기준에 근거하여 세계 각 박물관에소장되어 있는 잘못 규정된 암흑기 양식의 도자 편년 (編年)을 다시 바로잡는 작업을 시도하였다.
이상의 연구를 통해 중국 도자사상 가장 특수한 시기였던 암흑기의 청화백자에 관하여, 문헌과실제 유물 비교를 통해 암흑기 청화백자가 가지고 있는 특수성을 구체적으로 밝히기 위한 기초적인 작업이었으며, 또한 그 출발점이 되었다는 점에서 작은 의의를 둘 수 있다. 하지만 상술한 바와같이 암흑기는 극히 짧은 시기 때문에 한정된 유물 및 문헌사료로 연구를 할 수 밖에 없는 상황이었다. 이러한 현실 하에 실제로도 관련 연구가 여전히 미미한 상황이다. 따라서, 본 연구를 암흑기에 관한 기초 연구로써 추후에 이루어질 보다 심도 깊은 연구에 밑거름이 될 수 있기를 희망한다.

In 15th century, the history of China porcelain took on a new aspect. It’s a ZhengTong正統, JingTai景泰, TianShun天順 age that is lasted for 29 years with three dynasties.
(1435-1464) The operation of JingDeZhen Official Kiln (御器廠) had to be stopped by the government because of political chaos of Ming dynasty. Scholars call this period,“interregnum”. However, some scholars have been debated the authenticity of official Kiln organization because of the remains and Blue and white porcelain of this period which are contained in museum. This issue is still open to dispute. Meanwhile, the very short period of 29 years, law marketable value, and limited literature make the Blue and white porcelain is undervalued between the scholars who study china porcelain.
This study is about the ‘interregnum’ of Official Kiln in the mid 15th century and the JingDeZhen Blue and white porcelain which is produced in that period. This study tries to find out the Blue and white porcelain’s characteristic of the ages with comparing the porcelains with other remains at that time. Blue and white porcelains of XuanDe and ChengHua, the age of during and after interregnum, were mainly analyzed. Also tries to analyze the correlation with Longquan Kiln (龍泉窯), another official kiln. And with analyzing cloisonné, the typical crafts of interregnum, it is possible to infer that unique edge expression technique is a kind of way to reproduce the cloisonné effect on porcelain. These analyzing characteristic of the ages can indicate the new criterion of Blue and white porcelain’s recording chronologically at this age. Through that research, it is possible to introduce the unknown interregnum porcelain of museums around world and correct the wrong regulation of interregnum porcelain’s recording chronologically.
It is important that this research can be the groundwork to define the specialty of interregnum Blue and white porcelain which specifically find out the effects on national and international of interregnum Blue and white porcelain, the most special porcelain ever, with comparing documents and real relics. However, as mentioned above, the research should be done with limited documents and relics because the interregnum period was too short and other related researches are scant. Therefore, I hope that this study becomes the cornerstone to the next intensive study about the interregnum.
