학령기 말더듬아동과 조음음운장애아동의 비유창성과 의사소통태도 비교 (Comparison of dysfluency and communication attitude among school-age stuttering children and articulation phonological disorder children)

초록

본 연구는 말더듬아동과 조음음운장애아동과 일반아동을 대상으로 비유창성과 의사소통태도의 차이를 알아보고자 하였다. 학령기 말더듬아동 8명, 조음음운장애아동 8명, 일반아동 8명을 대상으로 비유창성 점수, 비유창성 유형, 의사소통태도 검사를 실시하였다. 결과는 일원분산분석과 사후검정을 이용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 세 집단은 비유창성 점수에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 비유창성 점수는 말더듬아동이 가장 높게 나타났고, 다음으로 조음음운장애아동과 일반아동 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 세 집단은 비유창성 유형에서 차이를 보였다. 말더듬아동은 병리적인 비유창성 유형이 높게 나타났고, 조음음운장애아동과 일반아동은 정상적인 비유창성의 유형이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 세 집단은 의사소통태도 점수를 비교한 결과 유의한 차이를 보였다. 말더듬아동이 조음음운장애아동과 일반아동보다 더 부정적인 의사소통태도를 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 조음음운장애아동도 일반아동보다 유의하게 의사소통태도 점수가 높게 나타나 부정적인 것으로 평가되었다. 이러한 결과는 조음음운장애아동이 음운처리과정의 문제로 유창한 구어산출에 어려움을 보이므로 의사소통 상황에서도 자신감이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구를 통하여 임상실제에서는 말더듬아동과 조음음운장애아동을 위한 유창성 증진 프로그램들이 고안되어야 할 것이다. 또한 말더듬아동뿐만 아니라 조음음운장애아동에게 유창성 증진 훈련들을 실시하는 것은 유창성 향상뿐만 아니라 의사소통 상황에서 자신감을 증가시켜 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference between dysfluency and communication attitude for the stuttering children, the phonological disordered children and the normal children. For 8 stuttering children in school age, 8 phonological disordered children and 8 normal children, the test of the dysfluency score, the dysfluency type and the communication attitude was performed. The results were analyzed by using one-way ANOVA and posteriori tests.
First, there were the significant differences in the dysfluency scores among three groups. The dysfluency score had the highest level in the stuttering children, the next came the phonological disordered children and the normal children.
Second, there were the differences in the dysfluency type among three groups. The stuttering children had the high level in the pathological dysfluency type and the phonological disordered children and the normal children had the high level in the normal dysfluency type.
Third, there were the significant differences in the communication attitude scores among three groups. The stuttering children had more negative communication attitudes than the phonological disordered children and the normal children. However, the phonological disordered children had higher scores on communication attitude than the general children, so they were negatively evaluated.
These results showed that the phonological disordered children had the low self-confidence in communicating situations too because they had difficulty in the production of the fluent speech due to the phonological processing problem. This study showed that the fluency-enhancing programs for the stuttering children and the phonological disordered children should be designed in the actual clinical practice. In addition, it is expected that the fluency-enhancing training to the phonological disordered children as well as the stuttering children can improve the fluency and increase the confidence in the communication situation as well.
