초록

The purpose of study was to examine the activities of the Korea National Dance Company from 1962 to 1972 focused on the regular performance and choreographers, dancers. Management of Ballet Companies in this period was the turning point from individual to systematized sponsored by nation.
Before 1962, Korean Dance circles as well ballet suffered from lack of funds and dancers, technique imbalance among dancers discord. The National Dance Company launched 1962 and supported twice a year by the government managed to stage the works of Korean dance ballet on gratuitous basic.
In this period, the choreographers such as Im Sung Nam, Song Bung, Ju Ri played the leading roles, and students of their private dance studios were participated in the regular performances, Especially in 1962, Im Sung Nam, was appointed as the first president of National Dance Company established with the form of national support, and the 'Korea National Ballet Company' was in-dependently established in 1973. Im made his effort on research and lectures for the diffusion of ballet education, and asserted the necessity of training ballerinas who could exceed foreign ballerinas and of early education of ballet.
It was not easy to separate Korea National Ballet Company form Korea National Dance Company. Since in staged the annual performance named National Ballet Company in 1970,there were many argument and confrontation among the dancers. However, Korea National Ballet Company was organized in 1972 lead by Im Sung Nam and it staged its annual performance by 1974.
