예비노인의 삶의 질 다중궤적 연구 (A Study on Quality of Life Multiple Trajectories by Life Stage for Pre-Eldery)

초록

본 논문은 예비노인(55세~64세)이 전기노인(65~74세)으로 이행하는 과정에서 경험하는 삶의 질 변화 양상을 파악하고 삶의질 변화궤적 유형별 특성을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 고령화연구패널(KLoSA) 제2차(2008년)~제7차(2018 년) 자료를 활용하여, 2차년도 당시 55세~64세인 예비노인 중 7차조사까지 모두 응답한 1,873명을 대상으로 집단중심 다중궤적 분석(Group-based multi trajectory model)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 예비노인의 삶의 질 다중궤적 유형은 총 4개의 유형이 도출되었으며, 건강호전형, 경제 안정형, 저수준 유지형, 고수준 유지형 순으로 나타났다. 예비노인은 전기노인으로 이행하면서 대체로 건강 및 경제상태와관련한 삶의 변곡점을 경험하였다. 유형별 인구사회학적 특성을 파악한 결과, 건강 호전형 및 저수준 유지형은 대체로 여성노인, 저학력노인이 해당한 반면 경제 안정형 및 고수준 유지형에는 남성노인, 고학력 노인 등이 대다수를 차지하였다. 예비노인의 종합적인 삶의변화와 인구사회학적 특성 분석을 통하여 생애사건 및 사회경제적 지위에 따른 삶의 다양성을 가늠할 수 있었다. 일련의 결과를 통하여본 연구에서는 기존 노인복지정책의 방향성을 달리 설정하여, 예비노인을 대상으로 선제적이고 예방적 관점에서 접근해야 함을 강조하였다. 나아가 예방적 관점의 건강관리 서비스 제공, 새로운 경로의존성이 형성될 수 있도록 사회참여 활동 활성화, 소득보장 제도 내실화등 삶의 주요 영역별 정책 개선과 함께 상호 역동적인 삶의 변화를 고려한 유기적 개입이 병행되어야 함을 제시하였다.

영어초록

This study aims to promote a comprehensive understanding of the process of change in the lives of pre-elderlys, based on the multi-dimensional concept of quality of life. This study used the data of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA) from the second wave in 2008 to the seventh wave in 2018, and analyzed a total of 1,873 participants of pre-elderly (55 to 64 years old). In this work, group-based multi-trajectory method was adopted, which is the most suitable analytical method for simultaneously solving life-stage heterogeneity and trajectory typification. The results of the group-based multi-trajectory analysis to identify the longitudinal changes in the quality of life for pre-elderly are as follows. In the process of transition from young-old to middle-old, a total of four types of health improvement, economic stability, low-level maintenance, and high-level maintenance were derived in the quality of life trajectory. Among them, health improvements accounted for the largest percentage. As a result of identifying the demographic characteristics of each type, the elderly female and the loweducated elderly accounted for the majority of the health improvement type and low-level maintenance type. On the other hand, the male elderly and the highly educated elderly accounted for the majority of the economically stability, high-level maintenance type. And when sociodemographic characteristics on the quality of life multiple trajectory types, differences were examined depending on the accumulated socioeconomic status.
Based on a series of discussions, the policy orientation for improving the quality of life for older adults in the future. First, an approach based on the old life stage should be a basic premise. In other words, it is necessary to set different focuses on policy with regards to the young-old, middle-old and old-old, and the major areas of life that appear to be mutually dynamic in the process should be considered. Second, it is necessary to set goals that comprehensively consider the uniqueness of each life stage in old age and the common life experiences in old age. Furthermore, preventive and proactive interventions should be made for the young-old, and suggestions such as strengthening health care services, establishing an environment to work until the legal retirement age, developing retirement preparation services that reflect various demands, and economic retirement preparation based on the income security system are made.
