‘무(無)의 몸-되기’를 통한 신학과 과학의 연대(連帶): 신비의 근원과 탈 영토화된 몸 안에서 만나다 (Solidarity of the Theology and Science through Becoming: The Body of Nothingness)

초록

본 연구는 신학과 과학이 서로 연대(solidarity)하는 새로운 전제를모색하고자 하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 그 과정은 다음 두 가지의 물음들로부터 출발한다. 1) 신학과 과학이 소통하는 궁극적 본질은 과학의‘객관적’합리성보다 더 큰 어떤 근원, 신비적이고 종교적인‘비합리적’합리성 안에 있는 것은 아닐까? 2) 그 본질 안에서 이루어지는 실천적인 연대는 구조적 타자를 끌어안는 탈-가부장적 가치관 안에 있지아닐까?이 질문을 기초로 연구자는 신학과 과학이 본질적으로 소통하고 연대될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하되, 특별히 기독교 신비주의 신학에 나타나는‘무(無)’의 특성을 탈 영토화된 페미니즘적‘몸- 되기’에 적용함으로써 수행하고자 한다. 1장에서는 지금까지 두 학문의 소통에 있어서주도적 역할을 감당했던 과학적 객관성의 한계를 밝힌다. 즉 과학의 본질로서 새로운 전환이 일어날 때 보이는 종교적 체험과도 비슷한 비합리적 합리성이 소통의 새로운 가능성이 될 수 있음을 밝힌다. 2장에서는 신학이 과학과 소통하는 비합리적 합리성의 영역으로서 무에 대해살펴본다. 과학의 본질에서 보이는 비합리적 합리성의 특성을 기독교신비주의의 무(nothingness)의 특성과 연관하여 살펴본다. 논객으로 에크하르트 신비사상을 기독교 유일신론적 관정에서 재해석한 루돌프 오토(Rudolf Otto)를 초대한다. 3장에서는2장에서 살펴 본 무를 들뢰즈-가타리(Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari)의 기관들 없는 몸( T h e Body without Organs)에 이르는 과정으로 보고 탈 가부장적 기호계의관점에서 풀어본다. 4장에서는 무의 몸을 실현하는 과정, 즉 무의 몸-되기를 여성-되기를 통한 연대의 과정으로 보고 신학과 과학의 실천적연대 가능성을 제시한다.

영어초록

Since the advent of modern era, the communication between theology and science has proceeded in the way that theology responds to the initiative of science. The mainstream of their communication after Newton’s accomplishments in physics as such came out as the one based on the ‘objectivity of scientific logic’ upheld by discovery and observation.
The aim of this study is to explore a new premise where theology and science could communicate and reach solidarity in the perspective of mystical theology and feminism. I will propose the possibility of a fundamental communication and unification of theology and science, especially by introducing “the body of becoming - nothingness” in which the concept of nothingness that mystical theology advances as the origin of all things is applied to the notion of territorialized body that feminism has developed. Firstly, I will disclose the limitations of scientific objectivity and valueneutrality which have played the central role in the communication between the two disciplines. I will discuss irrational rationality,which appears like a ‘religious experience’ that happens when a radical change takes place, as the essence of science, and I will illuminate that science, though insisting value-neutrality, must also be linked to the patriarchal world view. And after, my work will examine the body of nothingness as the junction where theology meets with science.
That is, the characteristics found in the essence of science are to be reviewed in conjunction with the nothingness of Christian mysticism.
The body where such nothingness is materialized is to be explained as the process in which ‘the body without organs’ is formed through deterritorialization and reterritorialization. To do it, I will draw on Ruldolf Otto who reinterpreted Meister Eckhart’s mysticism in light of Christian thought and the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. Lastly, I will review the discussions on the body of nothingness through Deleuze’s and Guattari’s women-becoming, desire and solidarity of freedom to propose the possibility of the theologyscience solidarity through ‘the body of becoming-nothingness.’
