    초록

    In this essay, I discussed the some important traits of Park Yun Seon's Reformed Theology. First of all, His eschatology and view point of the Bible were formed through the study at the Pyeong-Yang Theological Seminary. This School has the conservative or pietistic Evangelicalism than Reformed Theology. His view that sees the Bible as the inerrant God's Word was inherited from the Biblical view point of the Princeton's Old School which the early Korean Missionaries caught into Korea. In this perspective, Park Yun Seon's Biblical view point was formed from the tradition of Reformed Theology. But His eschatology was not amillenialism as the orthodox view of Reformed Theology. It was the premillenialism in the dispensational and evangelical camp which was developed in the pessimistic climates after the American Civil War and the fervent desires for the world mission. He denied the dispensational premillenialism, but received the historical premillenialism as Park Hyeong Yong. And he criticized Warfield's amillenialism and Boettner's postmillenialism.
    He focused on the exegesis of the Scriptures with the study of refomed theology through the twofold studying abroad at the Westminster Theological Seminary and Free University in the Netherlands. He was influenced from Machen, Van Til, Charles Hodge, G. Vos, B. B. Warfield, Abraham Kyper, Herman Bavinck, H. Riddelvos. and so on. He wrote the exegeses of the Scripture and another books citing John Calvin's exegeses and Institutes as the source of Reformed Theology.
    Accordingly, His traits of Reformed Theology which were expressed in his Biblical Theology and Reformed Dogmatics have those of Old Princeton Theology, Netherlandish Reformed Theology, and Calvin's Theology. He didn't understand Reformed Theology through John Calvin. He understood John Calvin through the Old Princeton Theology and the Netherlandish Reformed Theology. Therefore His biblical view point followed the Warfield's theory of inspiration emphasizing the inerrancy of the Scriptures. So He stressed the self-authentication of the Bible. But he was weak about the inner witness of the Holy Spirit.
    The most important contribution of Park Yun Seon was the connection of the exegeses of the Scriptures with Reformed Theology. He commented the whole Scriptures using the revelation-based thinking and the principle interpretating the Bible with the Bible. He developed the level of Korean Church's commenting the Bible through appling the principle of the reformed faith into the whole Scripture Comments. He introduced not only the American reformed theology but also the Netherlandish reformed theology.
    His pneumatology received both the once-for-all advent of Pentecostal Holy Spirit from the redemptive-historical perspective and the repetition advent of the Holy Spirit from the continual work of Holy Spirit through the influence of Cha Young Bae. He distinguished the Holy Spirit Baptism from the second birth. And He recognized the possibility of the gifts of Holy Spirit as the special gift about the cessation of the gift of Holy Spirit.
    Park Yun Seon's reformed theology synthesized the Old Princeton theology of Charles Hodge and B. B. Warfield, the Westminster theology of J. G. Machen and Van Til, and the Netherlandish reformed theology of Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck. He received the historical premillenialism from the evangelistic tradition through the early Korean Missionaries. His Pneumatology was a little influenced by the Pentecostal Movement through Cha Young Bae.
