초록

The purpose of this study is to establish a successful channel of com- munication for both producers (choreographers) and consumers (appreciator) by enhancing the understanding of the works through logi- cal analysis of contemporary dance.
Semiotics is the study of a kind of message targeting symbols. Among them, Peirce's semiotics, the founder of modern semiotics, is useful as a science that analyzes the In-depth structure that dance touches as art. Above all, it is beneficial because it understands the relationship between artwork and the icon sign, and provides a discourse on how it develops into an aesthetic indication and creates an emotional character of the art- work and artistic symbol.
Therefore, the semiotic approach can be solved from the instability of the relativity and temporality of dance, which will be an excellent sol- ution to discuss the meaning of 'modernity' which contemporary dance has and the implications of the concepts presented at the stage of inter- pretation of works.
