초록

이 글은 2014~2015년 독립운동사연구의 동향을 검토하여 그 성과를 확인하고 독립운동사 연구의 발전을 위한 몇 가지의 과제를 제시한 글이다. 먼저 국내외의 독립운동사 연구의 동향과 시군별·부문별 독립운동사 연구의 동향에 대해 검토하였다. 그리고 다음으로 독립운동사 연구의 발전을 위한 여섯 가지의 과제를 제시하였다.
국내의 독립운동사 연구는 의병, 애국계몽운동, 헤이그특사와 순국투쟁, 비밀결사, 3·1운동, 의열투쟁, 사회주의계 독립운동, 신간회, 민족문화수호운동과 강제동원에 대한 투쟁 등에 대한 연구가 이루어졌다. 이 중에서 특히, 의병, 유림계의 3·1운동인 파리장서운동에 대한 연구가 상대적으로 많이 이루어졌다.
국외의 독립운동사 연구는 중국 관내지역, 만주지역, 노령지역, 미주·일본 등지의 독립운동에 대한 연구가 행해졌다. 이 지역 중에서 중국 관내지역의 독립운동에 대한 연구가 가장 많았다. 중국 관내지역의 독립운동 중에는 대한민국임시정부에 대한 연구가 가장 활발하였고, 위생·의료 및 기념식과 같은 사회문화사적 검토가 시도되었다. 그리고 다음으로는 진보적 인물을 비롯한 미주지역의 독립운동가에 대한 연구의 성과가 컸다. 이에 비해 무장투쟁의 현장인 만주지역과 노령지역의 독립운동에 대한 연구가 미흡하였다.
도·시·군별 독립운동사 연구는 경북지역, 안동시의 독립운동사 연구가 가장 왕성하게 행해졌다. 그리고 부문별로는 여성독립운동, 아나키즘계 독립운동, 교과서의 독립운동 서술 등의 주제가 다루어졌다.
이처럼 적지 않은 연구가 이루어졌음에도 불구하고, 2014~2015년의 독립운동사 연구는 1990년대와 2000년대의 독립운동사 연구에 비해서 그 수효가 적다. 이는 독립운동사 연구자의 은퇴와 노령화, 그리고 연구자들이 사회·문화사 분야로 연구의 주제를 변경한 탓이다.
앞으로 독립운동사 연구의 발전과 활성화를 위해서는 다음과 같은 과제를 해결해야 할 것이다. 첫째 무장독립운동의 현장이었고, 희생이 많았던 만주·노령지역의 독립운동가와 독립운동단체에 대한 연구를 수행하는 데 힘을 쏟아야 할 것이다. 둘째 일치된 결론에 도달하지 않은 주제와 사건에 대해서는 콜로키움이나 학술회의를 통해 명확한 결론을 내도록 노력해야 할 것이다. 셋째 사회주의계 독립운동사 연구가 활발히 이루어져야 할 것이다. 넷째 독립운동을 진압한 일제의 기관과 조직과 직원 등에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 다섯째 신문이나 일제의 정보문서와 행형자료 외에 독립운동가가 생성한 회고록과 문집과 문서 등을 디지털화 해서 손쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다. 여섯째 사진 자료를 체계적으로 수집·관리하고 서지학적 연구를 발전시켜야 할 것이다.

영어초록

This is a paper to review the trend of Korean independence movement history researches and to look into tasks for the development of researches. In this paper, I intend to review the researches of Korean independence movement done in internal and external places, and check out the searches by regional group and theme.
Themes of internal independence movement researches done in 2014~2015 were righteous army, national enlightenment movement, Hague envoy and suicide struggle, secret society, the first of March movement, patriotic struggle, socialist independence movement, Shin-gan-hoe, national culture protection movement and resistance against compulsory mobilization, and etc. Especially, righteous army, letter to Paris movement of the first of March movement by Confucian scholars were studied much more than others.
Themes of external independence movement researches had differences in places, which were main land of China, Manchuria, Russia, America and Japan, etc. Among these, there were plenty of researches of the Korean Provisional Government. And the researches of the Korean American independence movement in America were the second in number. And the social and cultural history researches like medical treatment and ceremony have been done. But the researches of independence movement in Manchuria and Russia were unsatisfactory in number.
Among the researches of independence movement in province, the researches of independence movement in Kyung-book were most frequent. And among them in cities, those of Andong were most frequent. In researches by theme, the researches of Anarchist movement and women movement were enacted.
But the researches of independence movement have been reduced in 2014~2015 than 1990’s and 2000’s. These are down to retirement and aging phenomenon of researchers, and to changing of research theme.
From now on, to develop independence movement researches, we must fulfill several tasks as follows. First we must make a study about the independence movement of Manchuria and Russia, where were typical sites of armed struggle. Second we must make a conference and homogenize different views. Third we must increase the researches of socialist independence movement. Fourth the researches of the organization, agency, and officers of the Japanese Government General of Korea must be fulfilled. Fifth biographies, and memoirs, and documents of patriots must be collected and digitalized to be used easily. Sixth we must collect and organize photographies, and do bibliographic study about them.
