대중매체에 표현된 헤어스타일의 앤드로지너스 경향 -2001년부터 2008년까지 국내 대중가수를 중심으로- (A Study on Androgynous Trend of Hair Style Appeared on Mass Media -Centered on Popular Singers in Korea from 2001 to 2008-)

초록

Pop singer’s look appears through the exposure to the mass media and specific pop singer’s planned style exerts an influence on people’s fashion under the influence of the mass media. This study selected one Korean male singers groupand one female singer, divided the androgynous trend expressed in their hair styles into hair hue, hair volume, and hair decoration, and analyzed their characteristics. Finally the following results were obtained.
First, a very unisex hair style was produced on the basis of liberty not bound by formality without a fixed frame. Second, while pastel and vivid colors were frequently used in male’s hair style, black and low value achromatic colors were used in female’s hair style, suggesting a appropriate match regardless of sex. Third, male’s hard image was represented by a big or small volume of the root or top part of hair using curvy smooth. On the other hand, female’s soft image was expressed by a moderate volume in the tough and straight sense. It suggests the aesthetics of ambivalence. Finally, an image change was achieved by coordinating single items which could express male or female image clearly as hair decoration.
It is considered that men and women have a much broader and wider range of free self-expression by sharing each other’s style and it is significant to become the foundation for creating new culture.
