초등 방과후 학교 체육활동 프로그램 실태조사: 경기도 부천시를 중심으로 (A Study on the Current Situation and Perception of the After-School Physical Education Program)

초록

이 연구는 방과후 학교 체육활동 프로그램이 수요자 중심으로 다양화, 활성화 되는데 도움이 되고자 진행되었다. 이를 위해 최근 5년간 방과후 학교 프로그램의 전국 통계자료와 부천시 60개 초등학교의 2012학년도 상반기 방과후 학교 체육활동 프로그램을 분석하였다. 교육 수요자인 학생들을 대상으로 방과후 학교 체육활동 프로그램에 대한 전반적인 인식을 조사하였고 방과후 운영 교사와 지도강사를 대상으로 방과후 학교 프로그램의 운영과 조직에 대해 의견을 청취하였다. 방과후 학교 체육활동 프로그램의 현황과 문제점, 향후 전망을 모색하며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 초등학교에서는 체육활동과 관련된 방과후 학교 프로그램이 점차 증가될 것이 예측된다. 둘째, 초등학교 방과후 체육활동 프로그램은 학교 규모에 상관없이 체육관과 같은 환경·시설에 영향을 받으며 상위 3개 종목이 전체 프로그램의 70%를 차지하는 것으로 나타나 프로그램 다양성에 문제가 있었다. 셋째, 학생들은 체육활동에 대한 필요성 인식과 관심도가 타 교과에 비해 월등히 높고 시설 개선 및 프로그램 다양화가 참여도에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 방과후 학교 운영교사와 지도강사는 방과후 학교 체육활동을 다양화, 활성화하기 위해서는 교육환경의 개선과 학부모들의 인식 전환이 필요하다고 하였다.

영어초록

This study was to help after-school physical education program became consumer-centric diversified and activated through analyzing the status of operation and perception of teachers. To this end, five years national statistics of after-school physical education program were examined. The factors of after-school physical education program, which was performed on the first half of 2012 school year in 60 Bucheon elementary schools, were analyzed. Perception survey of teachers was performed with 150 students in three different schools (Bucheon, Siheung, Kwangmyung). Teachers and instructors were interviewed in depth. Through this, Current status, problems and future prospects of after-school physical education problem were examined and summarized as follows. First, the after-school physical education programs are gradually growing on a national scale, and especially prominent in elementary school. With this trend, number of physical education programs will overwhelm the other art-related programs in the future. Second, the after-school physical education programs are being carried out in all schools. Those programs have been influenced with existence of gymnasium but regardless of school size. Most top 3 programs were appeared in 70 percent of the whole program, which had a problem with the diversity of the program. Third, the elementary school students had enormous interests in physical activities than in other subject activities and most were aware about the need. Participations were due to fun and to relieve stress by voluntary. With more diverse program and improved school facilities, the more participation is expected. Fourth, the school teachers and instructors required improvement of teaching environment and the change of parents' perceptions. To do this, the government's financial support and continuous promotion of physical education program to parents are strongly required. After-school physical education program has been conducted in almost every elementary school and number of programs also increased. However, the program's quality and diversity still have the problems to be solved. Hence, governments, schools and parents should give more efforts to get over problems.
