유학생의 진로정체감이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향 (Foreign stdudent’s career identity’s effect to their adaption in university life)

초록

본 연구는 유학생의 진로정체감이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유학생들의 진로정체감과 대학생활적응에 대한 자기보고식 설문을 한 후 spss win 18.0을 사용하여 사회인구학적 특성은 빈도분석을 실시하였고, 진로정체감과 대학생활적응과의 관계를 분석하고자 상관관계및 단순회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 몇 가지 의미있는 결과를 정리할 수 있었다.
첫째, 유학생의 진로정체감은 대학생활 적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치며 학업적응과 개인정서적응과큰 정적상관이 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 진로정체감이 높을수록 학업에 잘 적응하며 정서적으로 안정감 있게 대학생활을 하고 있다고 볼 수 있다.
둘째, 유학생의 진로정체감은 국적, 취업의지 등과 유의미한 수준에서 상관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유학생 중 서구 지역에서 본교에 유학 온 학생들이 진로정체감이 가장 높았으며 다음으로 일본, 중국 순으로 나타났다. 또한 하고 싶은 일이 분명하고 취업준비를 하고 있는 등 취업의지가 높은 유학생이 진로정체감도 높게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유학동기가 분명하거나 취업의지가 강한 학생들이 진로정체감이 높기 때문이라고 사료된다.
셋째, 유학생의 대학생활 적응은 남학생이 여학생보다 대학사회적응과 개인정서적응에서 유의미한차이를 보였으며 1학년이 대학사회에 잘 적응하고 2학년과 3학년이 대학환경에 잘 적응하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 학년은 체류기간과 연결되어 체류기간 12개월 미만의 유학생이 대학사회적응을 잘하고있으며 25개월 이상 36개월 미만인 유학생이 대학환경에 잘 적응하였다. 또한 연령이 어릴수록 개인정서적응을 잘하며 21세 이상 25세 이하가 대학환경에 잘 적응하는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 진로정체감이 대학생활적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 진로정체감은대학생활적응의 하위 변인 중 학업적응, 사회적응, 개인정서적응에 커다란 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
이와 같은 결과는 유학생의 대학생활 적응을 위해서 진로정체감을 향상할 수 있는 대학의 노력을 몇가지 제안하였다.

영어초록

This study is about figuring out that foreign student’s career identity’s effect to their adaption in university life. For this study, we did self-report survey about foreign student’s career identity and their adaptation in university life. After that, we carried out analysis of frequency to find out sociodemographic feature with spss win 18.0. Also we conducted correlation analysis and simple regression for anaysising relationship between career identity and unversity life adjustment. After analysising, First, foreign student’s career identity affect on their university life adjustment meaningfully, and we realized that academinc adjustment and individual emotional adatation are on positive relationship. So we can say that if foreign student’s career identity is high, they would adjust well with their study and probably they have emotionally good school life.
Second, we could see that there is interrelationship in meaningful level between foreign student’s career identity and their nationality, employment volition. Foreign students except for Japanese and Chinese have high level of career identity, and Japanese and Chinese are next. Also, students who have high level of employment volition as they know what they want to do in future and prepare for getting job have high level of career identity. These results tells us that students who have clear motive of studying abroad and high level of employment volition have high level of career identity.
Third, we could see that in foreign student’s university life adaptation, male students get more higher scores on college community adaptation and individual emotional adaptation than female students, and freshmen have well adaptation on college community and sophomores and juniors have well adaptation on university environment. Their year of school have connection on the length of their stay, so that foreign students who stay lower than 12 months have well adaptation on a college community and foreign students who stay more than 25 months and lower than 36 months have well adaptation on university environment. Also, we could see that the less their age, the more they can adapt well to individual emotional adaptation and students who are over 21years old and below 25 years old can adapt well to university environment.
Lastly, we could see that career identity has meaningful effect on university life adaption.
Especially, it largely affects on academic adjustment, social adjustment, and individual emotional adaptation whice are low factor of university life adaptation.
These results shows the suggestion about university’s several kinds of efforts that can improve foreign student’s career identity for their university life adaption.
