초록

촛불 시위는 우리사회에서 새로운 커뮤니케이션 구조가 나타나고 있음을 보여준다. 촛불 시위를 통해서 우리는 재현 커뮤니케이션과 다른 형태의 커뮤니케이션, 즉 ‘표현 커뮤니케이션’을 발견하게 된다. 재현 커뮤니케이션은 대의 민주주의의 주요한 작동 메커니즘이며, 정치적 의사 결정의 핵심적 시스템이다. 이것은 의사결정과 실천, 정보의 생산과 소비 사이의 시·공간적 간격을 만드는 대중사회의 특성에 기반 한다. 시·공간의 간격은 특정한 정치권력이 지배적 상징을 생산하고, 정보를 선택하고 배제 할 수 있는 기회를 마련해 준다. 이같은 재현과 함께 매스미디어는 지역, 국가 그리고 글로벌 공간에 대한 미디어 이미지를 생산하면서 지배적 커뮤니케이션으로써 자리 잡게 되었다. 또한 사회적 의사결정을 위한 중요한 공간으로써의 역할을 수행하고 정치인, 관료 및 미디어 권력에 의해 지배된 재현적 공론장을 구축하였다. 그러나 디지털 기술의 발전과 네트워크의 진화는 새로운 커뮤니케이션 시스템, 즉 ‘표현 커뮤니케이션’의 출현을 가능하게 했다. 각 개인은 기술 이용자로써 탈 공간화와 탈 영토화, 그리고 재 공간화와 재영토화의 주체로써 상호작용할 수 있게 되었다. 디지털 이용자들은 인터페이스를 통해 기술적 시·공간을 구축하고 다양한 표현 방식들을 통해 표현의 시·공간을 구축하기 시작했다. 그들은 개인 미디어의 인터페이스를 이용하면서 모든 시민이 지식과 자신들의 생각, 사진 그리고 이미지들을 '현재성‘으로 교환할 수 있는 표현 공론장을 만들기 시작했다. 전통적 미디어가 구성한 재현 공론장과는 달리, 표현 공론장에서는 모든 참여자들이 시·공간적 차이 없이 동시에 정보의 생산자이자 소비자가 될 수 있으며, 정치 사회적 의사결정의 주체로 활동할 수 있다. 표현 공론장은 거대한 담론의 장으로써 중요한 역할을 수해하기 시작했다. 디지털 인터페이스에 의한 표현의 시·공간은 정치활동의 중요한 전략지가 되었으며 표현 공론장은 정치적 승리를 위한 헤게모니 장이 되고 있다

영어초록

The candlelight manifestation in our society is new appears in the communication structure. Through the candlelight manifestation, we find an another communication mode different from representative communication, 'expressive communication'. The representative communications are an mechanism of representative democracy and a core
system of political decision. This is based, above all, a attribute of mass-society in which be made interval of time and space between decision-making processes, production and consumption of informations. The interval of time and space take an occasion by which a specific political power produce a symbolic meaning dominance and make a momentum to select and exclude the informations. Mass media with these representations take a position of dominant communication system producing the media-images of a region, a country and a global space and practice a role as a important space for social decision and make structure of representative public space dominated by politicians, hight-administrators and media power. However, the advances of digital technology and the evolution of the network
make appear a new communication system, 'expressive communication'. Each individual can do interaction as the user technologique with the status subjective of extra-spatialisation and extra-territorialisation, and re-spatialisation and re-territorialisation. Digital users construct a time-space of technique with the interface and also a time-space of expression through the variety methode of expression. Using the interface of personal media, they
make the expressive public space in which all of civil can exchange the knowledge, their thoughts, pictures, images. Unlike the representative public space on the traditional media, in the expressive public space all the participators can be, in the same time, the producer and the comsumer of information and the subject of social and political decision. the expressive public space take the role important as a grate discussion-space. Now, the
expressive time-space by the digital interface become the important strategy of political actions and the expressive public space is the field hegemonic for the political victory.
