대하소설의 문화콘텐츠화에 대한 전망 (A Prospect of Making Cultural Contents based on Korean Classical Long Novel)

초록

The aim of this thesis is to examine possibility of making cultural contents based on Korean classical long novel, a representative type of Korean Classical novel.
In the first place, it was invested what Korean classical long novel has a strong point for making cultural contents.
In the aspect of construction, Korean classical long novel is very useful for Digital Storytelling for the reason of reiterated layers by plural protagonists and open construction through repetition between generation. Dual construction of Korean classical long novel, connecting the earth with the heaven, is also suitable for a trend of recent cultural contents which appears frequently a fantasy world to embody the whole world with unlimited imagination.
In the aspect of subject matter, Korean classical long novel, which puts together colossal characters and space-time in the concrete, has a merit providing much more the sauce of contents than other genre. In particular, considering that creation of various characters is important factor to have an influence upon success or fail, Korean classical long novel, which would be an exhibition hall for a large group of variegated characters with context of narrative, is greatly worthy of note.
In the aspect of recognition, it is regarded that propensity to type and general recognition of Korean classical long novel could contribute to popularization. Especially dealing with universal ethics to which human beings intend and organizing it to perform the diverse playing a variation in the actual situation, Korean classical long novel would supply a felt want of the populace aiming at universality and particularity both.
Many layers need to be considered in order to actualize cultural contents with Korean classical long novel according to the treatment of the original text. Although mainly making the database of original text and translating into a living language have been focused all these days, methods of reprocessing should be groped positively from now. Through this, as Korean classical novel is renewed understanding as a open text, it is possible to come to a mutual understanding between the past and the present and to make steady progress toward up-to-date meaning of classical novel.
Further more we also need to concern about the fields of multifarious contents such as entertainment storytelling and information storytelling. in particular the latter should be concerned much more to apply a humanistic value in classical novel.
However in the process of making cultural contents of Korean classical long novel, the most important point is to make an effort to carry out the role of humanistic true character, as well as to pursue economic value added.
