Abstract
Currently, English is a major language, which assists individual in their interaction for trade as well as for study purpose in higher education abroad. When international students study in universities abroad, self-study time is given, which is a great opportunity to improve English skills outside. Listening is the principal skill for learn a language and it can be exercised in and outside the classroom. Therefore, the aim of this report is to analysis the results of a survey in which students of the ELTC were asked about the relationship between their self-evaluator of listening skills and their listening habits outside the school. This survey report was obtained by means of a face to face questionnaire. The results showed that there is a relationship between the time spent during their self study on listening aspect and their self-evaluation of listening skills and also the way to listen to English. Results indicate that those learners who spent more time listening English outside the class tend to be more confidence in their listening skill.
