본문내용
A newspaper <The Independent> released statistics about women on International Women’s Day 2015. According to it, 1% of all owned land in the world is owned by women, (The Independent, 2015, 03, 06). As shocking as it might be, women still do not stand equal to men in a lot of areas, especially economically. According to another survey by United Nations about gender gap, only 3.1% of the parliamentary seats in lower chamber are occupied by women in Iran, and only two countries have more than 50% seats in lower chamber parliamentary taken by women, (unstats.un.org, n. d).<중 략>
We’ve come to conclusion, that even though women’s right is not easy to achieve, countries that ratified CEDAW at least tried to keep it and tried many new policies to promote women’s rights nationally. It seems positive that countries have improved on their situation by little at least. However, there are some limitations I came across. First of all, there are indirect discriminations in the world. Even though CEDAW seemed to have done pretty good job in enforcing ad bringing together the countries to reach their common goals, all CEDAW could do was to urge countries to set up legal boundaries in which women were guaranteed legal protections.
