본문내용
What was the motivation behind decision of Mao Zedong and the CCP leadership to enter the Korean War?
To use the Korean War to consolidate the CCP's domestic state power or to enhance China's status in the international power politics in the early Cold War period?
Considering the circumstances right after the civil war of China in 1949, domestic condition was not yet stabilized so it was not an appropriate time for CCP to engage in another war. Despite of taking risks of producing many casualties and huge material losses, what was the motivation of Mao's decision to enter Korean War when he just ended the civil war and while Chiang kai-Shek was still residing in Taiwan?
