ABSTRACT:Speaking is the most effective way to communicate with others. In speaking, the speech sounds plays important role to serve as a channel for the information. However, it is difficult for L2 learners to handle L2 speech sound as they intend. This paper reviews the studies with relation to L2 speech sounds and describes the preconditions for learners’production of L2 speech sounds. Moreover, this paper investigates the conditions to help L2 learners produce L2 speech sounds appropriately and proposes the tasks which can be applied in teaching pronunciation.

1．はじめに
スピーキングはコミュニケーションにおいて最も基本的な手段でありながら、L2学習者においては4技能の中で最も難しく感じられる分野でもあるといわれている。その理由は、分節音とプロソディの適切な使用が要求されるということと、１人以上の話者と相互作用する場合、様々な処理が殆ど同時に要求されるからである。このような理由から、スピーキングは多くの下位システムの統合が要求される活動であり、学習者にとってはかなりの負担がかかるタスクであるといえる。
スピーキングの正確さに関する指導は、1971年のHymesが提唱したコミュニケーション能力の登場に影響を受け、それまでの独立した音の正確な発音の指導から、その上、プロソディを強調する指導への傾向になり、実際のコミュニケーションの中で通用できる発音指導を目標とすることになった。つまり、発音の目標が母語話者並みの発音を目指すことでなく、目標言語の母語話者が十分に受け入れ、理解できる発音を目指すことになったのである。しかし、いくらマクロレベルの特徴が強調されてもミクロレベルの特徴が不適切に産出されたらその発話は伝達機能を失う恐れがあるのが事実である。
