The next impact is unemployment…. Even though Wal mart people claim that they have hired almost 2.1 million people, the reality is different. Let’s compare between how local stores and walmart hire people… in order to make 10 million u.s. dollars in sales, wal mart people hire 65 to 70 people while local stores hire average 106 people.. That is, statistically when wal-mart people hire two people, three people in local stores will loses job because the local stores closes down. Moreover, the working conditon in walmart is not that good. Most of wal mart people are part time, which means they work less than 40 hours a week and 60 to 70 percent of them does not have health insurance. Wal Mart spokesman Mona Williams admitted that Wal-Mart is not the place for one who has to support family.

The last issue, oursourcing, cannot be the problem also… According to IMF, this graph shows how the insourcing and oursourcing have changed since 1980 and you can see that the net insourcing to the u.s. is larger than net outsourcing from the u.s… That is, even though many manufacturing jobs are going out, many service jobs are coming into the u.s..

The IMF anticipates that by 2012, 80 percent of people will work in service industries.. So you can’t expect to live in first world country while working their world jobs… american people loose factory jobs, but they can get service industry jobs..
