Nowadays, it would not be an exaggeration to say that alcohol is ‘our favorite drug’ (Marshall, 2002). It has become such an established part of our lifestyle and culture. Alcohol is any of a series of hydroxyl compounds derived from saturated hydrocarbons, including ethanol and methanol. A question that always arises is whether alcohol should be banned. In my opinion, alcohol consumption is extremely harmful to our health. Generally, alcohol should be banned for the following reasons. Alcohol can cause health-related problems and it may lead to an increase in crime rates. Also, it may cause traffic due to drunk driving. However, we can prevent alcohol abuse. In my essay, I will discuss the supporting reasons with explanations and examples.
