루터의 시편 해석 방법론 연구: 1517년 전과 후의 시편 110편 해석 비교 (A Study on Luther’s Hermeneutical Methods of the Psalter: Comparison between the pre–1517 Interpretation and post–1517 Interpretation of Psalm 110)

초록

이 연구의 목적은 마르틴 루터의 시편 해석 방법론을 1517년 전기와 후기의 시기로 나누어 그의 해석학적 발달 과정을 조사하는 것이다. 루터는 시편을 세 번에 걸쳐 강해하였는데, 각 시기마다 선별된 텍스트의 범위가 다르고, 해석 방법이 다르고, 강해한 분량도 엄청난 차이를 보인다. 본 연구는 루터의 신학적 주석학적 깊이를 잘 볼 수 있는 시편 110편을 선택했다. 루터가 두 번째 시편 강해 시에는 시편 110편을 다루지 않았기 때문에 첫 번째와 세 번째 시편 해석을 비교하였다.
루터의 첫 번째 시편 강해에는 글자와 영에 의한 이분법적 해석과 중세의 4중적 의미를 찾는 해석이 주를 이루고 있고, 특히 알레고리적 해석이 두드러진다. 기독론적 해석도 주로 알레고리적 해석에 기초하고 있다.
그러나 세 번째 시편 강해에는 글자와 영의 모델과 중세의 4중적 해석이거의 사라진다. 역사적 문자적 해석이 정교해진다. 모형론을 사용한 기독론적 해석, 적용을 염두에 둔 해석, 신학적 해석이 두드러진다. 신약 우선적 구약 해석은 전후 시기에 모두 나타난다. 루터가 율법과 복음이라는 새로운 이분법적 해석을 사용함으로써 해석학적 논란의 불씨를 남겼다. 그렇지만 1517년 전후의 루터의 시편 해석을 비교해보면 엄청난 변화를 초래하였다. 루터의 개혁은 구원론 중심의 개혁이었을 뿐만 아니라, 중세의 현란한 성경해석으로부터 올바른 말씀의 이해로 향하는 성경 해석의 개혁이기도 하다.

영어초록

The goal of this study is to investigate the development of Martin Luther’s exegetical methods of the Psalter before and after 1517. He exposited the Psalter three times(AD 1513–1515, 1519–1521, and 1530– 1535). But there are tremendous differences in his selection of the texts, his methods of interpretation, and the amount of his exposition from the first to the third period. This study looks into Ps 110 because one can relatively well observe the depth of his theology and exegesis through this psalm. Since Luther did not treat Ps 110 in the second period of his exposition of the Psalter, this study has compared his exposition of this psalm between the first and the third period.
In his first period, Luther mainly used the letter–Spirit model and the model of the four–fold sense handed down from the Middle Ages. In particular, allegorical interpretation is the most noticeable method he used in this period. His Christological understanding is largely based on allegorical interpretation. In the third period of his exposition, however, the letter–Spirit model and the four–fold sense of the Middle Ages almost disappeared from his exegetical methods. His literal–historical interpretation sharpened during this period. Luther’s methods of interpretation are also characterized by Christological interpretation by typology, application–conscious interpretation, and theological interpretation. The interpretation of the OT by the NT authors is given priority over the interpretation of the OT before and after 1517. During the third period, Luther’s adoption of the dualistic method of the Law–Gospel distinction later became a source of discord among the Lutherans.
However, there is a tremendous transition in Luther’s methods of interpretation of the Psalter from the first to the third period. Luther’s reformation is not only a reformation of soteriology but also a reformation of biblical interpretation. His exegetical methods have changed from the extravagant interpretation of the Middle Ages to a more accurate understanding of the Scriptures.
