夏曼⋅蓝波安的海洋民族书写 ― 以≪大海浮梦≫为主的研究

초록

Syaman Rapongan had published eight novels about Tao tribe’s marine culture before the publication ‘Drifting Dreams On The Ocean’. Based on this fact, this study was conducted focusing on the following two points. First, on the implication aspect, this study analyzed how ‘Drifting Dreams On The Ocean’ differs from the previous works which share a repetitive subject matter. Second, on the narrative aspect, this study analyzed the narrative method ‘Drifting Dreams On The Ocean’ used to differenciates itself from the previous works. As a result, it was found that Syaman expanded the original ‘marine culture of Tao’ to ‘marine culture of Austronesian-speaking peoples’. Also, Syaman used literary narration to describe marine culture which laid hidden behind the land civilization’s supremacy. With this, Syaman pointed out the blind spot of the knowledge system founded upon the Land-based view of history. In terms of narrative methods, characteristics of auto-ethnography are clearly exposed in ‘Drifting Dreams On The Ocean’. Especially, based on the evacative narrative, the narrator ‘I’ moves back and forth in time freely in ‘Drifting Dreams On The Ocean’. This method of narration reveals strong self-consciousness and personal identity in the work, enabling readers to dwell upon the current cultural system and the knowledge system they are placed in. Lastly, Syaman organically combined Tao’s oral tradition, the way they think in Tao language and marine image, and then created a new style of writing. By modifying Chinese expressions and Chinese literary norms, Syaman created a distinctive form of marine literature narrative.
