초록

본 논문은 한국전쟁기 대구경북지역 신문에 연재되어 남아있는 전쟁관련 수기를대상으로 그 전개와 변모양상을 조사 연구한 것이다. 한국전쟁기 대구경북지역 신문연재 수기는 해방이후 분단국가로서의 반공 이데올로기의 형성과정이라는 탈식민적 양상을 보여준다. 1952년 『대구매일』에 연재된 <남해의 비사>는 일본 천왕을 흠모하고 일본군으로서의 입장을 내세운 일본중좌 쑤시의 태평양전쟁 수기였다. 이는미국연합군을 배제한 일본군의 입장에서 기술되고 있다는 점에서 전시 미디어의 양가성을 재현한다. 전시 종군기자들은 후방의 전쟁 독려, 반공 계몽의 관점에서 수기를 쓰고 있으나 ‘김문’과 같은 종군작가들은 좀 더 한국전쟁의 내밀한 실상을 좀더가까이에서 재현한다. 김재용, 이대영의 수기에는 미국의 전투력을 아군의 것과 동일시한 피식민지배자로서의 탈식민적 혼종성이 나타난다. 문총구국대 김문의 종군기에서는 부라운 군조와의 대화를 통해 해방이후 전시까지 소통 불가능한 인종과 문화의 오리엔탈리즘을 재현한다. 한편 개인 수기에 있어서 사회적 지도층인 최민순은반공을 사상적으로 체계화하는 과정에서 한국전쟁을 ‘성전’으로 인식, 휴전에 반대하고자 하였다. 이는 근거 없는 미움을 서구 제국주의 논리로 감싼 기독교근본주의와 유사한 형태의 주장이었으나 이는 해방공간으로부터 전시까지 연계되어온 식민지 피지배자로서의 입장을 그대로 재현한 것이라 할 수 있었다. 이는 당시 전쟁의 비극을 조선시대 천주교를 박해한 동족상잔의 비극에 비유한 지원의 입장과 대조되는것으로, 서구 제국주의로부터 파생된 담론, 강대국 간의 이념 담론을 추종하는 것에 불과하였다. 이들 한국전쟁기 지역신문에 나타난 수기들은 일본에 대한 인식변화와더불어 반공 사상이 어떻게 급조되어 형성되어왔는가에 대해 깨닫게 해준다. 일제식민지배의 과정을 체험한 지식인들의 신문 글쓰기에는 지배와 피지배의 양가성으로부터 자유롭지 못한 흔적이 드러난다. 미국의 개입은 그러한 이중성을 재연하도록도와주었다. 전시 수기 자료들을 통해 어떻게 반공 이데올로기가 정착 되었는가에대한 배경과 형성과정, 즉 미국과의 동질화와 분노의 논리로 민족정신이 ‘반공이념’으로 급격하게 대체될 수 있었던 자리를 확인할 수 있었다. 결국 대구경북 지역 언론계와 사회지도층이 민족 개념을 전략적으로 ‘專有(appropriation)’하고자 하는 데서‘반공’이 이데올로기로 형성되기 시작한 것이라 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This paper aims to investigate the postcolonial aspects of experiencedessays of between Pacific and Korean war, especially in Daegukyeongbukdistrict in 1945-1954. It focuses on serial experienced essays of<DaeguMail>, <YoungNamIlbo> and <Catholic Newspaper>that popularlyhave been published, even choosing the sudden shift from anti -Japanismto anti-Communism in 1945-1954.
Theses essays represented the postcolonial syndrome, such asambivalence and hybridity ; though supporting the Korean nationalism in<INMeyonHyeoJeongi, Bloody War in Burma>by ChoeDeokShin ,<Secret history in Pacific war> by Zhusi, the Japanese veteran soldier in1952, involved in Japan's racial spirit that returned to imperial japanism.
<Bloody war in Burma> tried to stimulate Korean nationalism throughthe storytelling against the imperialistic colonization of Japan, on thecontrary, <NamhaeBisa, Secret history in Pacific war> (written by Zhusi,translated by BaekGiMan who had been a famous nationalist)endeavored to represent the Japanism against U.S.A ; related to Japan 'simperialism of period Korea's being occupied by Japan ; Zhusi's essayrepresented the real defeated war situation participated as a navy officerin Pacific War. The writer, Zhusi never repents. He took a pride enough royally as a soldier of Japan's God and he exaggerated the spirit and soulof Japan, also the portrait of Japanese soldier being representedbelligerent image (illustrated by Oh SeokGu) with that essay. Zhusirespected his fellow soldiers and cried for his king who directlycommands the Japanese soldiers. Then, we can acknowledge thesituation that could not have checked Japan's imperialism fromoccidental nationalism out in our mind in 1952.
Two essays written by newspaper reporters, Kim JaeYoung andYiDaeYoung try to identify with the power of American soldiers ; theBig powerful country, America only by having anti -Communism. ButKim Mun's essay represented the mis-cognition between Korean andAmerican soldiers, because American soldiers could not communicatewith Korean people for the difference of skin colour and culture. Thisessay is one of important materials that had represented the aspect ofpostcolonial writing with ambivalence.
ChoeMinSun, as a social leader, though his thought seem to be toopathetic, tries to testimony and verify the anticommunism ideology as ifthat might had arrived in a perfect logic. Therefore, he persuaded Koreanpeople to believe that Korean War should be "holy war" against evil.
Choe, even though was a religious and social leader of DaeguGyeongbuk district, tried to logicalize the anticommunism throughinterpretation of world history and philosophy and so on. He tried to helpthe politically high class people of South Korea who were for thedogmatic anti-Communism, with belligerency and hatred against NorthKorea. His fanatical writings that had accepted Orientalism functioned asa "affiliation" discourse. The new colonial opinion identified with whites dominated society that had ruled imperialistic colonization. We canconfirm the sudden formation process of anti-Communism in localregion through these experienced essay. These writers could not freefrom ambivalence consciousness of ruling and being ruled. In the end,the participation of America which played the trigger role in Korean war,led Korean essayers to represent the ambiguous and double mind; newcolonial consciousness, as it had been continued since American armygoverned the South Korea.
This strategy to justify the anti -Communism splitted the South Korea'smind. As post colonial war situation triggered political national elite ofSouth Korea, they appropriated the national ideology in themselves.
