본 논문은 메디치 가문의 컬렉션에 대한 사회적 관점들의 변화를 통사적으로 분석한다. «로렌초의 보물»로 알려진 메디치 가문의 초기 컬렉션은 가문의 기억이 담긴 이국적 물건들로 구성되었지만, 동시에 부와 권력에 대한 과시적 욕구가 결합되어 있었다.
이후 코시모 1세가 토스카나 공국을 건설한 후 바사리에게 주문한 우피치 중심의 도시기획의 결과로 컬렉션은 특정 장소에 재현되어 역사적 정당성을 감상자에게 설득하면서역사적 가치를 획득했다. 또한 용도가 다른 다양한 장소에 배치되면서 예술품에 대한사회적 관점을 다원화 시켰다. 이후 계몽주의 시대의 변화는 제도적 관점에서 중요한의미를 지닌다. 1737년 메디치 가문의 마지막 직계 후손인 안나 마리아 루이사 데 메디치는 공국의 권력을 로렌 가문에 이양하는 과정에서 과거의 역사적 가치에 대한 인식때문에 메디치 컬렉션이 피렌체에서 반출될 수 없다는 조건으로 컬렉션을 기증했다. 그러나 이후 로렌 가문의 레오폴드 대공은 장소와 결합된 컬렉션의 역사적 맥락을 분리해서 여러 박물관들에 제도적으로 정비 배치했고, 이 과정에서 우피치 미술관의 학예관 루이지 란치는 백과사전적 분류체계에 바탕을 둔 문화적 관점에 따라 이전에 메디치 가문의 컬렉션의 특징을 구성했던 역사적 정체성을 교육적 유용성을 위한 보편적인 관점으로 대체하면서 우피치 미술관은 근대적 공공 박물관으로 변화했다.

영어초록

This article undertakes an historical analysis of the cultural exchanges on theMedici collections throughout history. The origin of the Medici collection derivedfrom the "Lorenzo's Treasure", family's collection in relation with their socialmemories but also with the result of acting on the international political stage.
After political crisis of Medici Family at the Renaissance, the collection wasfounded and developed by the patronage of the Medici family, whose membersgave rise in the sixteenth century to a state - the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. In thismoment, the Uffizi Gallery was commissioned by Cosimo I de Medici on a designby Vasari. This collection had a clear celebratory purpose: its universal natureextolled and legitimated the sovereign, affirming his supremacy. The collectionswere installed in the specific space editing the historical value.
Throughout the next century the collection was increased and enriched withbequests from various members of the family. In 1737, the last surviving memberof the de Medici family strengthened this bond by bequeathing all the gallery'scollections to Francesco di Lorena, the future Grand-Duke of Tuscan, on thecondition that they must never leave the city of Florence. During the 1700s, theGallery underwent substantial changes in both its structure and composition.
Inspired by Enlightment and rationalist principles, Pietro Leopoldo began to break up the collection, dividing it among various institutes of conservation according totheir purpose. The main protagonist was Luigi Lanzi who emphasize change andinnovation in his text Le Real Galleria di Firenze accresciuta e riordinata percomando di S.A.R. L'Archiduca Granduca di Toscana on the reorganization of thecollection. In this systematic reorganization of medici collections with newacquisitions, the identity of historical value of Medici family was substituted by theuniversal value of the Art. In this way the Uffizi Gallery and take a new roleinduced the allocation of all its resources to construction of an new culturalvocation for the city that was to be spent also for economic and educationalpurposes.
