<기생충>에 드러난 자본주의 사회의 모순적 균형 고찰 (A study of the contradictory balance of capitalist society revealed in )

초록

본고는 <기생충>이 자본주의 사회의 글로벌 계급구조의 모순적 균형에 대한 민낯을 보여줌으로써 서로 다른 계급의 강제적 공생 형성이라는 위험성을 폭로한다는 점에 주목한다. 여전히 자본주의 사회에서도 개인의 생존 욕구의 충족은 무엇보다도 중요한 문제다. 그러나 자본주의 사회에서 자본은 개인의 노력 여부와는 별개로 모두에게 공평하게 분배되지 않음으로써 계급의 불균형이라는 문제를 발생시킨다. 특히 생존의 기본 조건인 자본과 이를 바탕으로 더 많은 소득을 창출하는 불로소득이 특정 계급에 몰리는 현상은 계급의 불균형을 발생시킴으로써 계급의 고착이라는 결과를 가져온다.
<기생충>은 최상층 계급과 최하층 계급의 강제적 공생 형성을 통한 자본주의 사회의 모순적 불균형의 위험성을 드러낸다. 중요한 점은 각 계급에 해당하는 집단의 행위와 그 결과가 자본주의 사회의 새로운 글로벌 계급구조 전체를 대표하지는 않는다는 것이다. 단지 <기생충>은 각 계급에 해당하는 집단의 행위과 그 결과를 제시하는 데 그치며, 이에 대한 구체적인 해결책인 언급하지 않는다. 자본주의 사회의 모순적 불균형이라는 문제를 근본적으로 해결하기 위해서는 새로운 글로벌 계급구조에 대한 인식의 변화와 연대를 통한 개선 노력이 이루어져야만 하기 때문이다. 목숨의 연명을 위하여 생존 욕구 충족에만 급급한 프레카이아트와 룸펜 프레카라이트 계급의 내부적 분리가 지속된다면 자본주의 사회의 모순적 불균형 문제는 결코 해결될 수 없다. 생존 욕구의 충족을 넘어 충분한 자본과 그로 인한 불로소득을 쟁취하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 하위층에 해당하는 두 계급의 공감대 형성을 통한 연대가 중요한 것이다. 즉, 프레카리아트와 룸펜 프레카리아트 계급에 해당하는 사람들은 자신들이 처한 상황이 개인적 부족함 때문이 아닌 자본주의 사회의 구조적 문제 때문임을 자각해야만 한다.
이와 관련하여 <기생충>은 자본주의 사회의 모순적 균형을 향한 하위층 계급의 연대가 아닌 숙주를 차지하기 위한 동일한 하위층 계급으로서 기택 가족과 문광․근세 부부의 처절한 사투를 보여준다. 그러나 자본주의 사회의 모순적 균형의 위험성을 인식함에도 불구하고 연대를 통한 개선 노력이 아닌 개인의 분노 표출에 그친다는 점에서 해결될 수 없는 문제임을 극명하게 보여준다.

영어초록

This article focuses on the fact that <Parasite> exposes the reality of the contradictory balance of the global class structure of capitalist society, revealing the dangers of the formation of compulsory symbiosis between different classes. In a capitalist society, the fulfillment of an individual's need to survive is still the most important issue. However, capital in such a society creates a problem of class imbalance by not being distributed equally regardless of individual efforts. In particular, the phenomenon in which capital and passive income is concentrated on a specific class results in class imbalance, which eventually results in class fixation.
<Parasite> reveals the danger of contradictory imbalance in a capitalist society through the formation of compulsory symbiosis between the upper and lower classes. What is important is that the actions of the groups and their consequences for each class do not represent the entire new global class structure of capitalist society. However, <Parasite> presents the actions and results of the group corresponding to each class and does not mention a concrete solution to this. This is because, in order to fundamentally solve the problem of contradictory imbalance in a capitalist society, it is necessary to have a change in awareness regarding the new global class structure and make improvement efforts through solidarity. If the internal separation of the Precariat and Lumpen Precariat classes focused only on the fulfillment of one's desire for survival, the contradictory imbalance of capitalist society can never be solved. In order to achieve sufficient capital and the resulting passive income, solidarity through the formation of consensus between these two divisions of the lower class is important. In other words, those who fall into the Precariat and Lumpen Precariat classes must be aware that their situation is not because of personal deficiency, but because of the structural problems of capitalist society.
In this regard, <Parasite> shows the desperate struggle of Kitack's family and the Moongwang and Geunsea couple as the same lower class attempting to occupy the host, not the solidarity of the lower class towards the contradictory balance of capitalist society. However, despite recognizing the dangers of the contradictory balance of capitalist society, it limits itself to show the anger of the individual rather than trying to demonstrate the possibility of improvement through solidarity, clearly indicating that it is a problem that cannot be solved.
