청대 畫琺瑯 器皿에 보이는 花紋의 이슬람 요소와 그 특징 (The Elements and characteristics of Islamic on Enamelled Painted Wares of the Qing Dynasty)

초록

오늘날 확인되는 청 황실 미술의 서양적 요소는 대부분 강희년간(1662-1722)이후적극적인 서양 문물의 청궁 유입과 깊은 관련이 있다. 예를 들어 18세기 초 강희말년, 제작에 성공한 화법랑(畫琺瑯) 기술은 전형적인 유럽식 공예장식 기법에 그 기초를 둔다. 중국에서의 화법랑 제작 기법 자체가 유럽을 통해 유입되어 발전된 만큼 청궁 조판처(造辦處) 법랑작(琺瑯作)에서 제작된 청대의 화법랑 기명에는 유럽풍경과 유럽 귀족들 등의 서양식 소재와 음영법이 사용되는 예가 상당수 확인된다.
흥미로운 점은 눈에 확연히 띄는 서양 풍경이나 인물 외에 또 다른 외래적 요소들이감지된다는 점이다. 특히 화법랑 기명에 등장하는 화문(花紋)은 매우 자연적인 소재의사실적 묘사가 수반되며, 외부적 요인에 영향을 받아 중국 본토에서는 보이지 않는 백합, 장미, 서번련, 양귀비, 붓꽃 등 異國의 꽃이 나타나기도 한다. 음영이 표현된 사실적인 외래종의 출현 배경에 대하여 다수의 연구자들은 유럽과의 교류에 의한 증거로 보는 견해가 상당수이지만, 이는 명암법과 백합이나 장미 등 서양을 대표하는 품종 자체에 집중한 경향이 크다. 하지만 청대의 화법랑 기명이 생산되던 17-18세기는 유럽 외에이슬람 세계에서도 비교적 사실적 묘사로 표현된 화훼 세밀화가 활발히 제작되고 있었으며, 심지어 화훼화가 가장 발달된 지역이기도 하다. 게다가 당시 청나라는 이슬람 국가와의 활발한 교류를 통해 수많은 이슬람 공예품이 청궁으로 유입되었고, 청 황제들은 이국적인 공예품에 대하여 깊은 애정과 찬사를 아끼지 않았음은 이미 여러 연구에서 확인된 바 있다. 따라서 화법랑 기명에 표현된 이국적 꽃의 등장과 사실적 표현방식을 단순히 유럽 미술의 영향으로 단정하기에는 세밀한 검토가 요구된다.
이에 그간 유럽의 영향이 크게 부각되었던 청대 화법랑 공예품의 다른 면모를 고찰하고자 하였으며, 그 결과 화법랑 기명에 보이는 사실적인 화훼문은 그 품종과 표현 방식을 통해 유럽의 영향은 물론 무굴, 사파비, 오스만 등 이슬람 제국의 화훼문과 상당한친연성이 있음을 확인하였다. 가령 18 세기 전반 이슬람 시장을 상대로 제작된 수출자기에 등장하는 백합과 대칭형 화훼의 활용은 전형적인 이슬람 미술의 요소라고 볼 수있다. 청궁 내에서 생산된 화법랑 공예품에서도 인도 화보에서 주로 보이는 외래 품종인 백합·장미·서번련·철선련·양귀비·붓꽃 등이 등장하며, 이를 표현하는 방식역시 화병에 꽃꽂이 된 대칭형 꽃다발이나 삼지창 형태로 줄기가 갈라지는 화훼문, 대칭형 꽃받침이 있는 서번련 등의 요소, 이슬람 카펫에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 강아지풀 모양의 화창은 이슬람 미술의 대표적 특징으로 꼽을 수 있다. 즉 청나라 화법랑 공예품의 외래적 요소는 유럽 미술의 영향 외에 서아시아에서 강력한 자체적 문화를 형성하였던이슬람 미술의 영향을 함께 받았으며, 청대 미술품에서 보이는 다채로운 문화적 요소는 당시 청의 활발한 대외 교류를 보여주는 또 다른 견증(見證)이라고 할 수 있다.

Most of the Western elements of the Qing Dynasty's art that are identified today are deeply related to the inflow of active Western culture aft,er Emperor KangXi (1662-1722). For example, The HuaFalang(畫琺瑯) technique, which has succeeded in making in the later reign of the Kangxi emperor, is based on a typical European crafts technique. As the HuaFalang technique itself enters and develops through Europe, Many examples of the Western style of painting European landscapes or European aristocrats using shading methods are identified in the Enamelled Painted Wares of the Qing Dynasty.
What is interesting is that in addition to western landscapes and figures with distinctive eyes, there are also other exotic elements. In particular, flower patterns appearing in Enamelled Painted Wares is a very natural material, which involves realistic depictions. In addition, influenced by external factors, foreign flowers such as lilies, roses, passiflora caerulea, poppy, and Iris that are invisible in China are also seen. On the background of the appearance of realistic foreign species expressed in shades, many researchers view it as evidence of exchanges with Europe, but this is largely focused on the shading and Western representative varieties such as lilies and roses. However, in the 17th and 18th centuries, when Qing Dynasty's Enamelled Painted Wares were produced, In addition to Europe, flower detail expressed in realistic depiction in miniature painting was actively produced in the Muslim world, even in the region where flower miniature paintings were most developed. In addition, studies have already confirmed that the Qing Dynasty's active exchanges with the Islamic State brought numerous Islamic artifacts into the palace, and that the Qing emperors spared great affection and praise for the exotic artifacts. Thus, the appearance of exotic flowers and the realistic expression expressed in bowls are not simply the influence of European art.
This study looked at the different aspects of Enamelled Painted Wares Qing Dynasty, where the European influence was greatly highlighted. As a result, it was confirmed that the realistic drawing of flowers is related to the influence of Europe as well as to the flower gate of the Muslim empire such as Mughal, Zapavi, and Osman. For example, the use of lilies and symmetrical flowers in export porcelain, manufactured against the Islamic market in the first half of the 18th century, is a typical element of Islamic art. Artifacts produced in the royal court of the Qing Dynasty also feature lilies, roses, passiflora caerulea, poppies and iris, which are the main foreign varieties seen in India's pictorials, Some of the elements that express this also include symmetrical bouquets of flowers arranged in a vase, flower patterns that divide the stems into trident forms, and passiflora caerulea with symmetrical flower supports are considered representative features of Islamic art. In other words, the exotic elements of the painting and crafts of the Qing Dynasty were influenced by Islamic art, which formed a strong and independent culture in Western Asia, in addition to the influence of European art. The various cultural elements seen in Qing Dynasty's artworks are another proof of Qing Dynasty's brisk foreign exchanges at the time.
