초록

기(記)라고 하는 문장은 기록하는 바의 대소사(大小事)에 따라 뜻을 취함이 다르고, 돌에 새기지 않는 것이 원칙인 것이다. 고대에는 기(記)는 기사(紀事)로 주를 삼았고, 한유 이후로 구양수와 소식에 이르러 의론을 섞는 변화가 생긴 것이다. 기(記)는 어떤 사건의 시말을 기록한 것이고, 견문이 미친 것을 서술한 것이다.
농암은 건축기에서 문장기법을 사용함에 첫째로 종종 사물로 연유하여 논리에 이르는 경우가 있는데, 사물과 이치가 하나를 이루고 있다.
먼저 「삼일정기」에서 ‘삼일(三一)’이란 이름이 세 개의 기둥과 한 개의 용마루에서 찾고, 여기에서 천지인(天地人)의 삼재(三才)를 생각하고 일리(一理)를 생각하게 되었다고 하였다.
「청청각기」에서는 ‘백운산의 형세가 그 봉우리와 고개가 높고 험하며 물과 계곡이 깊숙하다.’하고, 이어서 그 물과 돌과 산물의 자세함을 하나도 빠뜨리지 않고 묘사함으로써 은근한 가운데 눈각의 필요성을 강조하고 있다. 또 누각의 이름이 ‘청청(淸淸)’인 까닭을 누각이 세워진 곳의 풍경과 누각의 모양, 그리고 누각 주인의 행동거지에서의 맑음에서 찾고 있다.
「제월당기」에서는 당(堂)의 주인이 ‘당세에 뜻이 없어, 여러 번 벼슬이 내렸으나 높게 누워 일어나지 않았고, 우유하고 한연하여서 그 뜻에 맞았으니, 무릇 세상의 얻음과 잃음, 기쁨과 슬픔이 마음속에 걸리는 것이 이미 적었다.’하고, 이로써 ‘제월(霽月)에 특별히 만남이 있으면 완상함을 얻어서 이 당(堂)의 위에서 즐거워할 수 있다.’고 하였다.
둘째로 농암의 문장은 주관적 정의를 표현하는 것을 위주로 하면서도 충실히 객관적으로 실제 생활을 묘사하여, 논리가 손을 따라 물드는 듯하다.
먼저 「청청각기」에서 비록 지경이 청(淸)하다 하여도 주인의 청(淸)이 없으면 지극한 청(淸)이 아니라며, 주인의 사람됨이 ‘온화하고 소박하며 담박하여 세리에 담담하다’ 하여 청(淸)이라 하고, 뒤에 다시 ‘진실로 이로써 스스로 만족하지 않고 더욱 도의로써 스스로 탁마하여서 학(學)을 물어 소광한 원(原)에 도달하고, 잡고 보존하여 허명한 체(體)를 길러서 하여금 사물의 더러움을 씻어내고 가슴속을 쇄락하게 하여, 진실로 연평(延平)의 빙호추월(氷壺秋月)과 같이 할 수 있다면, 이는 세상의 지극한 맑음이라고 이를 수 있다’고 하였으니, 바로 누각의 이름을 ‘청(淸)’이라 하지 않고, ‘청청(淸淸)’이라고 한 까닭이 여기에 있을 것이라 하였다.
「제월당기」에서는 인간이 천기(天機)와 하나가 될 수 있는 것은 ‘반드시 그 「귀거래부」를 지은 사람인 뒤에야 북창(北窓)의 바람이 서늘할 수 있고, 반드시 그 「격양음」을 지은 사람인 뒤에야 낙양(洛陽)의 꽃을 볼 수가 있는 것’과 같다고 하였다. 따라서 이것이 바로 송후곡(宋後谷)에게 제월당이 있는 까닭이라는 것이다.
농암의 건축기 문장은 건물을 짓게 된 동기와 건물의 구조 등을 서술하는 가운데, 때로는 사물과 이치가 하나가 되고, 때로는 논리가 손을 따라 물들면서, 농암 문장의 우수성과 문학성을 드러내는 최대의 효과를 노리고 있다.

영어초록

Consequently this rightly is to be a reason which is Jewaldang in Songhugok.
Guchookgi sentence of Nongam when the writing that reason which has become act and the building, structural and so on is sometimes the thing and reason become one, the logic follows the hand sometimes and from the stain ground, aims the maximum effect which distinguishes the superiority and a literature of Nongam sentence.
