바다이미지를 응용한 찻상제작 연구- 분장기법을 중심으로 - (Study on Tea Table Design with images of the sea - focused on Bunchang Technique Applied -)

초록

본 연구는 바다이미지를 소재로 분장기법을 응용한찻상제작을 통해 분장의 표현기법을 모색하고 이를작품에 활용함으로써 분청에 대한 의미를 되새기는한편 차문화의 영역에서 도재찻상의 기능성을 확대하고 조형소재로서 찻상조형을 제안하는데 그 목적이있다.
연구 방법 및 범위는 문헌연구, 인터넷검색, 전문가면담 등을 통하여 바다이미지와 찻상의 개념에 대한개념을 정립 및 이론적으로 고찰하였고, 바다의 시각적 이미지화를 위하여 회화와 입체작품, 제품의 영역에 나타난 바다이미지를 비롯하여 도자에 나타난 바다의 표현형식을 작품사례를 통하여 탐구하여 작품제작에 참고하였다.
또한 찻상의 형식과 구조연구는 문헌과 실제 활용사례를 조사 ․분석하여 찻상조형의 기초자료로 활용하였다.
찻상은 조합토를 도판형태로 성형하여 돌 형상이나굽의 형태로 다리를 부착하거나 나무를 조립할 수 있는 구조로 성형하였다. 성형된 찻상은 1250℃에서 재유와 투명유를 시유하여 완성하였고 소성완료 후 고목형상 및 받침대형식으로 목재를 깎아 조립․완성하였다.

영어초록

This study was engaged in designing a tea tableusing bunchang technique (that applies white clayto the surface of a ceramic), and the tea table thatthe study had worked on was created based onthese images of the sea. Through such designing ofthe tea table with bunchang technique applied, thestudy looked into the representation technique ofbunchang, and as applying the technique to thework, it recalled the significance of agrayish-blue-powdered celadon. Add to that, at thesame time, the study also aimed to improve thefunctional property of ceramic tea tables in the fieldof tea culture as proposing a tea table designwhich could be used as a design material.
In terms of the research methods and scopes, thestudy reviewed references, searched on the Internetand had interviews with experts in order toestablish a theory on concepts of the ocean imagesas well as the tea table, and to visualize theimages of the sea, the study took a look into notonly the ocean images observed in paintings, three- dimensional works and products but also how thesea has been represented through ceramics. Thestudy referred to what it had learned from itsinvestigations when it actually tried to design itsown piece.
Not only that, as for the form and the structureof the tea table, the study analyzed references andexamined how any tea tables were actually beingused, and the findings of the investigations wereapplied as basic information to help the studyconstruct the tea table.
Regarding the tea table, the study shaped themodeling clay in a form of a plate, and designed itfor a user to attach legs in a shape of a stone or aheel or even to assemble the wood. The designedtea table was completed after it got glazed with anash glaze and a transparent glaze at a temperatureof 1,250℃, and after the process of firing, the studycut the wood to complete the tea table with asupport looking like an old tree.
At present, the general tea culture of Korea hasbeen even more popularized, and activities of thesetea drinkers who pursue some special teaceremonies are being diversified. Not only that, teagoods that artists in several fields have beendesigning and creating make the tea culture acultural phenomenon to be experienced moreconveniently than before.
This study focused on static drinking mannersand emotional aspects of the tea culture andprocessed the natural materials to create a tea tablewhich would formatively re-interpret images ofnature as well as some of natural objects, and as aresult, the tea table that the study had designednever felt boring or old-fashioned. What and howthis study had done to create the tea table willimprove a possibility of ceramic tea tables’ invitingpeople to feel any different attractions of their liveswith cups of tea.
