정신장애인의 가족지지가 자기효능감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Mental impaired of Family Support on Self-Efficacy)

초록

우리나라의 정신질환은 2017년 5월 정신보건법을 정신건강복지법으로 개정하면서 정신장애인에 대한 접근을 치료중심에서 재활모델을 거쳐 지역사회 통합을 위한 자립생활모델로 거듭나고 있다. 이는 정신질환이나 장애가 있더라도 당사자가 자신의 상황에 대한 통제력을 높여 자기결정권을 높일 수있는 개입에 초점을 두는 것이다. 이와 발맞추어 정신장애인 가족들의 의미도 과거의 부정적인 의미 에서 벗어나 치료와 재활에 원조할 수 있는 자원의 개념으로 전환되고 있다. 그러나 실제로는 정신요 양시설의 수나 그 곳에 거주하는 정신장애인의 수는 큰 감소를 보이지 않고 있으며 탈시설화는 과도 기적 상태에 놓여있다. 정신장애인의 지역사회 통합의 저해요인으로 오랜 시설생활로 인해 무기력함과 낮은 자기효능감, 가족의 비협조적인 요인 등 당사자의 자립의지와 심리적 요인이 원인으로 작용 하고 있다. 정신장애인의 지역사회 통합과 삶의 질을 높이기 위해서는 자신의 삶을 스스로 통제할 수있는 자기효능감 향상에 주목할 필요가 있다. 자기효능감을 높이기 위해서는 정신장애인의 우울과 불안을 감소하고 삶의 질을 높이는 가족지지를 중요한 자원으로 활용할 필요가 있다. 하지만 가족지지가 정신장애인의 질병과 증상을 관리할 수 있는 능력의 자기효능감 향상에 중요한 요인임에도 불구 하고 정신요양시설 입소 장애인을 대상으로 한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이러한 맥락에서 가족지지를 긍정적, 부정적으로 구분하여 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 긍정적 가족지지가 높을수록 자기효능감이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

In Korea, for mental disease, the Mental Health Act was revised into the Mental Health Welfare Act in May, 2017. Along with that, the approaches for the mentally disabled have been changed from the treatment-oriented model to the rehabilitation model and to the independent life model for the sake of community integration. This means that it is focused on interventions to help those suffering from mental diseases or disorders to improve their control over their situations and enhance their rights of self-determination. Along with that, the meaning of families of the mentally disabled is also changing from the negative view in the past to the concept of resources that can aid their treatment and rehabilitation. As a matter of fact, however, the number of homes for the mentally disabled or those residing in them is not decreasing very much, and deinstitutionalization is presently in the transitional period. As hindrance factors that the mentally disabled face in terms of community integration, there are factors associated with their will to live independently and their psychological factors such as lethargy coming from their long stay in the facility, low self-efficacy, and their family’s uncooperative factors. In order to realize their community integration and enhancement of their life quality, we should pay attention to improving their self-efficacy and heightening their control over their life on their own. To enhance their self-efficacy, it is needed to get rid of their depression and anxiety, and to improve their life quality, it is necessary to utilize family support as one of the crucial resources. Although family support is one of the main variables associated with self-efficacy which is ability that the mentally disabled have to manage their diseases and symptoms, there has not been much research done on the disabled staying in homes for the mentally disabled. In this context, this author has tried to divide family support into two factors (positive & negative) and examine the effects of it on self-efficacy. According to the results, when positive family support is provided more, their self-efficacy becomes more enhanced.
