초록

해외 한인디아스포라의 독립운동에서 러시아 원동 연해주는 매우 중요한 역할을 했다. 가장 활발한 ‘독립운동 기지’ 중 하나였다. 특히 러시아내전 기간에는 ‘디아스포라 과제’와 ‘민족해방 과제’가 하나로 결합돼 있었다. 하지만 내전 종결 이후 연해주에 사회주의 사회를 건설해야하는 단계에서는 ‘디아스포라 과제’와 ‘민족해방 과제’가 혼종돼 나타났다. 내전 이후 이전 한인 빨치산들 중 많은 이들은 생산 현장으로 들어갔고, 일부는소련 정규군으로 복무했다. 또한 내전 시기 정치투쟁에 나섰던 이르쿠츠크파 고려공산당 계열 인물들이 연해주로 돌아와 한인 디아스포라의 지도자가 됐다. 이를 통해 그들은 소련혁명의 완수라는 ‘디아스포라 과제’ 해결에나섰다. 한편, 내전 이후 연해주를 떠나 간도 그리고 중국 관내로 나아간이들도 있었다. 상해파 고려공산당 계열 청년들이 중심이 돼 조직한 적기단이 대표적이다. 연해주에 남은 이들은 조선 혁명을 지도하기 위한 기관을 설립했다. 그 결과 1925년 서울에서 조선공산당이 창립됐다. 조선공산당의 창립과 소일협약의 체결로 ‘디아스포라 과제’와 혼종돼 있던 연해주한인들의 ‘민족해방 과제’가 분리되기 시작했다. 결국 1925년을 분기점으로 연해주 한인사회는 ‘민족해방 과제’보다는 ‘디아스포라 과제’에 치중하게 됐다. 그 결과는 1920-30년대 연해주 한인사회의 발전으로 나타났다.
다른 한편 연해주는 ‘독립운동 기지’의 역할을 러시아 내에서는 모스크바에, 그리고 중국 만주와 관내에 넘겨주었다.

영어초록

The Russian Far East played a pivotal role in the Korean independence movement abroad, serving as one of the most active and significant “base for the independence movemen.” During the Russian Civil War, the “diaspora agenda” and the “national liberation agenda” were deeply intertwined, forming a unified objective. However, with the end of the civil war and the onset of socialist state-building in the Russian Far East, these two agendas began to manifest in a hybridized form. Following the war, many former Korean partisans transitioned into roles within industrial production sectors, while others enlisted in the regular Soviet army. At the same time, figures affiliated with the Irkutsk faction of the Korean Communist Party—who had been engaged in political struggle during the civil war—returned to the region and assumed leadership positions within the Korean diaspora community. In doing so, they redirected their efforts toward the fulfillment of the Soviet revolutionary project, reframing it as part of the broader “diaspora agenda.” Concurrently, some Korean activists departed from the Russian Far East and moved into Manchuria and inland China. Among them, Jeokgidan, organized primarily by young cadres from the Shanghai faction of the Korean Communist Party, exemplifies this outward movement. Those who remained in the Far East established institutional structures aimed at directing the Korean revolutionary cause.
This culminated in the founding of the Korean Communist Party in Seoul in 1925. With the establishment of the Korean Communist Party and the signing of the Soviet-Japanese Agreement, the previously entangled agendas of diaspora construction and national liberation among Koreans in the Russian Far East began to diverge. The year 1925 thus marked a critical juncture at which the Korean community in the region increasingly prioritized the “diaspora agenda” over the “national liberation agenda.” This shift was reflected in the development and consolidation of the Korean community in the Russian Far East throughout the 1920s and 1930s.
Simultaneously, the role of the Russian Far East as a strategic “base for the independence movement” was transferred—within Russia to Moscow, and in China to Manchuria and the interior regions.
