2000년대 소설에 나타난 조선족 이주여성의 타자적 정체성 (A Study on the Locality and Otherness of Joseonjok Migrant Women in Novels of the 2000s)

초록

전지구적 자본과 세계화의 물결로 월경하는 이주자의 디아스포라적 삶이 급증하고 있다. 2011년 3월 현재 135만 명의 인구구성의 변화를 보인 한국사회는 다문화사회로 진입하고 있다. 노동과 결혼, 유학과 출장 등의 이유로 국경을 넘는 이주자의 일부는 한국사회의 일원이 되었다. 특히 중국동포인 조선족 이주자는 한민족이라는 동질성으로 코리안 드림을 안고 조국을 찾아왔으나 차별적ㆍ배제적 시선으로 갈등과 혼란에 빠지며 정체성을고민하였다. 언어, 피부색의 유사성에도 불구하고 문화, 정서, 이념, 경제 체재의 차이는 한국인과 조선족 사이에 오해를 양산하거나 상처를 줌으로써다문화사회에 화두를 던진다. 결혼이주여성이자 이주노동자인 ≪잘 가라,서커스≫의 림해화, <가리봉 연가>의 장명화, <그곳에 밤 여기의 노래>의임명화는 ‘∼화’로 끝나는 조선족 여성의 일반적 이름을 지닌 디아스포라여성으로 비극적이고 고단하며 신산한 삶을 통해 타자적 정체성을 보여준다. 그녀들은 계급, 문화, 젠더라는 삼중 억압으로 성화(섹슈얼리티)되고 성별화(젠더)됨으로써 성희롱의 위협에 노출되거나 돌봄노동과 가사일에 제한적으로 노동함으로써 불안하고 힘든 이산을 체험한다. 젠더와 이주로 중첩된 조선족 이주여성은 불법 체류의 위험에 노출되어 질병을 얻거나 비극적인 삶을 살게 된다. 암, 불구, 유산, 죽음과 같은 몸의 훼손은 사회적 약자에게 가해지는 사회적 부당함을 상징적으로 드러낸다. 여리지만 적극적인 조선족 여성은 트랜스내셔널 사회적 공간들을 만드는 긍정적 이방인들로서 자신이 태어나고 성장한 지역과 이주국 사이를 넘나들면서 영향을 주고받는 경계인으로서의 삶을 몸으로 체현함으로써 다문화사회의 가능성과문제점을 제시해 주고 있다.

영어초록

The diaspora life of migrants who move across the borders in the waves of worldwide capital and globalization has been increasingly common. In March, 2010, Korean society with changes to the population composition with 1.3 million migrants entered the multicultural society stage. Many migrants came into Korea for work, marriage, study, and business trip and became the members of Korean society. Especially the Joseonjok immigrants,who were Koreans that used to live in China, came into Korea,holding the Korean dream based on their homogeneity with Korean people. They, however, were faced with discriminatory and alienating views, fell into conflicts and confusions, and thought over their identity. Despite the similarities in language and skin color, the Koreans and the Joseonjoks had wounds and pain due to apparent differences in culture, sentiment, ideology, and economic system and have raised issues to be discussed in the multicultural society.
The migrant works who were marriage migrant women, Lim Hae-hwa of <Good-bye, Circus>, Jang Myeong-hwa of <Love Song of Garibong>, and Lim Myeong-hwa of <The Night of There and The Song of Here> all have a typical Joseonjok female name that ends in “hwa.” They show their tragic, painful,and difficult lives and thus the other identity of diaspora women.
They become the objects of sexuality and gender under the triple pressures of social status, culture and gender, thus being exposed to the threats of sexual harassment. They also have their work limited to caregiving and household chores, thus going through uneasy and difficult dispersion experiences.
In the intertwined net of gender, migration, and social status,the Joseonjok migrant women are exposed to the risk of illegal stay, developing a disease or leading a tragic life. Such body damages as cancer, handicap, abortion, and death symbolically represent social injustice inflicted upon the socially weak. Being delicate and active at the same time, the Joseonjok women move between the area where they were born and grew up and the immigrant country as the positive outsiders that create transnational social spaces and experience a life as marginal individuals with their whole bodies, thus showing the possibility and problems of a multicultural society.
