조선족 여성 재현과 돌봄의 윤리 (Representation of Korean-Chinese Female and Ethics of Care)

초록

조선족에 대한 미디어 재현은 젠더별로 큰 차이를 나타낸다. 조선족 남성재현은 영화 <황해>(2010) 이후 조폭, 장기밀매범, 연쇄살인범 등 강력한범죄 캐릭터로 묘사되어 왔다. TV 드라마에서도 조선족 남성은 한국 사회에위협을 가하는 전형적인 범죄자 이미지로 각인되었다. 반면 조선족 여성의경우는 한국 사회의 수용 방식에 따라 시대별로 차이를 보인다. 결혼이주여성으로 한국에 들어온 1990년대 초부터 2000년대 초반까지는 순박한 농촌처녀로 시집와서 가부장적인 시댁 생활에 잘 적응하는 모습으로 재현되었다.
2000년대 중반 이후부터는 결혼이주여성보다는 노동이주로 한국에 들어온조선족 여성에 대한 재현이 증가했다. 독립적이고, 생활력이 강한 캐릭터가등장하면서 재현의 층위가 넓어졌다. 2010년 이후 한국 사회는 범죄영화가상업적으로 큰 성공을 거두었고, 조선족 3대 살인사건이라 불리는 강력범죄가 잇따라 발생하면서 조선족 미디어 재현에도 폭력과 살인 등의 범죄 재현이 증가했다. OCN 드라마 <처용>(2014), <듀얼>(2014), <블랙>(2017), <나쁜 녀석들>(2017) 등에서 장기밀매범, 연쇄살인범, 조폭 등의 잔혹한 조선족남성 캐릭터가 등장했고, 조선족 여성 캐릭터는 <미씽: 사라진 여자>(2016), <악녀>(2017) 등을 통해 범죄 재현이 본격화되었다. 한국 사회에 잘 정착하고, 순종적이었던 과거의 조선족 여성 이미지가 모성을 지키기 위해서는살인도 서슴지 않는 폭력적 범죄자로 재현되기 시작한 것이다. 그러나 목숨을 걸고 모성을 실천한 조선족 여성이 마주하는 현실은 안정되고, 평화로운일상과는 거리가 멀다. 자신이 저지른 범죄로 감옥에 가거나 절망의 끝에서극단적인 선택을 한다. 물론 예외적인 재현도 등장한다. 정성주 작가의 JTBC <밀회>, <아내의 자격>에 등장하는 조선족 여성은 당당하게 자신의 주장을펼치는 주체적인 여성들로 그려진다. 그러나 이는 드라마 전체 생산량과재현의 분포를 살펴봤을 때 매우 미미한 시도에 불과하다. 본 연구에서는그동안 남성 조선족 재현의 범죄자 이미지를 영화와 드라마를 통해 여성조선족에게 투영한 영화 <미씽: 사라진 여자>와 드라마 <미스트리스>의재현방식을 분석한다. 조선족 여성 재현의 문제점을 ‘돌봄’과 ‘환대’의 차원에서 점검하고, 통일시대를 대비한 코리언 디아스포라의 통합서사 구축을 위한 성찰과 연대의 방향을 모색해 보고자 한다.

영어초록

The representation of the media on Korean-Chinese (the ethnic Koreans living in China) shows a big difference by gender. Since the movie "The Yellow Sea" (2010), Korean-Chinese male has been portrayed as a powerful crime character such as gangster, human organ trafficker, and serial killer.
In the TV drama, Korean-Chinese men were also described with the image of a typical criminal who threatened Korean society. However, the representation of Korean-Chinese female seems different depending on the accepted ways of the Korean society and on the periods. From 1990s to early 2000s, the Korean-Chinese female, who immigrated to Korea as a marriage migrant women, represented as an image of naive rural women who are well-adjusted to patriarchal life in their husbands’ family. After middle of 2000s, the representation as labor migrants rather than marriage migrants increased. Then, the layer of representation became broader due to the appearance of independent characters who have strong ability to maintain their livelihood. After 2010, the crime films succeeded in Korea society and violent crimes, which are called as Three Korean-Chinese Murder Cases, occurred successively. It resulted into increase of reenacting media of the Korean-Chinese such as violence and murder. Cruel Korean-Chinese male characters such as gangster, human organ trafficker, and serial killer appeared in OCN drama <Cheoyong>(2014), <Dual>(2014), <Black>(2017), and <Bad Guys>(2017). Korean-Chinese female characters appeared as similar way in the movie like <Missing: the disappeared woman>(2016), <Wicked Woman>(2017). The Image of the Korean-Chinese female, who were naive and well-adjusted to Korean society, started to describe as violent criminals who are willing to murder in order to protect their maternal instinct. However, the reality, which is faced by the Korean-Chinese female who fulfill their maternal instinct, is distant from a peaceful daily life. They usually go to jail due to crimes they commit or kill themselves falling into the pit of despair.
Of course, there are exceptional reappearances. The Korean-Chinese female characters in JTBC drama <Tryst> and <Right of Wife>, which are made by author Seongju Jeong, are described as independent women who insist their opinion confidently. However, given production of entire drama and distribution of representation, However, this is only a trivial attempt. This research analyzes the ways of representation in the movie <Missing: the disappeared woman> and the drama <Mistress> because these project the criminal images of Korean-Chinese male on the representation of Korean-Chinese female. This research also inspects the problems of the representation of the Korean-Chines female in terms of ‘Care’ and ‘Hospitality’ and seeks the directivity of reflection and solidarity in order to establish combined description of Korean Diaspora which prepares for the era of unity.
