박상근류 가야금산조 고찰을 통한 ‘음악 감상․비평’ 지도내용 연구－음악 역사·문화적 맥락 중심으로－ (A Study on the Instructional Content for ‘Music Appreciation and Criticism’ through the Examination of the Park, Sang-geun School Gayageum Sanjo)

초록

국가무형문화재 제23호 가야금산조는 음악문화․사회․역사적인 관점에서 교육적 가치가 매우 높다. 2015 개정 음악과 교육과정에서는 진로선택 교육과정에 ‘음악 감상과 비평’ 교과를 신설하였는데, 이에 따라 산조 교수․학습 내용을 연구해야 할 필요성이 제기되었다. 이에 본고에서는 충청권 산조인 박상근류 가야금산조를 음악 역사적․문화적 맥락 속에서 고찰하고 ‘음악 감상과 비평’ 교과 수업내용을 구성하는 데 목적을 두었다.
충청도제 박상근류 가야금산조는 박팔괘-박상근으로 전승되고 1968년 국가무형문화재로제23호로 지정되면서 성금련을 보유자로 인정하였다. 그러나 1977년 보유자 인정이 해제되면서 계승이 단절된 상태이다. 박상근류의 음악적 특징은 장단에 굿거리가 포함되어 있는데, 실제 연주나 문헌자료에 의하면 오늘날 전승되는 산조 ‘중중모리-굿거리’의 장단 명칭은 ‘굿거리-중중모리’로 명칭을 바꾸어야 한다. 그리고 진양의 내드름은 다른 산조들과 유사하나, 종지는 다른 산조들과 달리 악조별, 음악문단별로 완전종지를 하지 않고 연결종지로 가락을 이어가고 있다.
이상과 같이 박상근류 가야금산조를 고찰한 내용을 중심으로 ‘음악 감상․비평’ 수업을 위한 지도내용을 다음과 같이 선정하였다.
감상영역에서는 교육과정에 제시된 내용요소에 따라 ‘가야금산조의 근원과 발생과정, 지역별 산조, 박상근류 산조의 내드름과 종지가락, 충청제 박상근류 산조의 장단 구성’을 지도 내용으로 선정하였다. 가야금산조는 조선 후기 사회적․문화적․역사적 배경에 따라 자연적으로 발생했고 다양한 유파로 발전하여 오늘에 이르렀음을 이해할 수 있도록 지도한다. 그리고 충청지역 산조인 박상근류만의 가락표현과 장단구성의 특성에 대한 내용을 이해할 수 있도록 지도한다.
비평영역의 교육과정에 제시된 내용요소에 따라 ‘무형문화재로서 충청도제 산조의 가치인식, 무형문화재 보존․전승의 제도의 문제점’이라는 지도 내용을 선정하였다. 충청도제 박상근류 가야금산조에 대한 다양한 가치를 비판적 사고를 바탕으로 해석하고 평가할 수 있는 음악적 안목을 기르는 데 중점을 두도록 지도하며, 국가무형문화재 제23호인 산조의 보존․전승제도에 대해 비평을 하도록 하여 전문인으로서 비평의 의의를 두도록 지도한다.
본 연구는 충청지역의 산조인 박상근류 가야금산조를 중심으로 가야금산조의 근원과 발전과정, 산조의 전승계보에 대한 역사․문화적 배경 및 음악적 특징을 고찰하여 선택중심 교육과정 중 진로선택의 ‘음악 감상 및 비평’ 교과의 수업내용을 제시하였다는 의의가 있다.

영어초록

Gayageum sanjo, the intangible cultural property No. 23, has a great educational value in terms of a musical-culture, social, and historical perspective. In the 2015 Revised Music Curriculum, a ‘music appreciation and criticism’ course was newly offered under the career choice curriculum, so a need for research on teaching-learning content for sanjo is raised. For this, the study aims to examine the Park, Sang-geun school gayageum sanjo of the Chungcheong area from a music historical and cultural context, thus providing instructional content for ‘music appreciation and criticism’ class.
The Park, Sang-geun school gayageum sanjo of Chungcheongje was passed down from Park, Pal-gwae to Park, Sang-geun. It was designated as national intangible cultural property No.23 in 1968, and Sung, Geum-ryeon was recognized as a holder of the intangible cultural property. In 1977, however, the succession was cut off as the holder’s approval was lifted. One of the musical characteristics of the Park, Sang-geun school sanjo is the inclusion of gutgeori in its jangdan, but according to actual performances and literature, it is necessary to switch the name of the existing sanjo jangdan from ‘jungjungmori-gutgeori’ to ‘gutgeori-jungjungmori.’ Also, naedeureum in jinyang of the Park, Sang-geun sanjo is similar to that of other sanjos, but its cadence is quite different. Instead of ending in perfect cadence, it continues a melody with connecting cadence depending on modes and musical sentence.
As described above, the instructional content for ‘music appreciation and criticism’ class is selected as follows, centering on the examination of the Park, Sang-geun school sanjo.
In appreciation, ‘the origin and formative process of gayageum sanjo, regional sanjo, naedeureum and cadence patterns and jangdan structure of the Park, Sang-geun gayageum sanjo of Chungcheongje are selected as the instructional content in accordance with the curriculum guidelines. Students are instructed to understand that sanjo naturally occurred depending on the social, cultural, and historical background in the late Joseon period and was developed into various schools to finally reach a current form. They are also instructed to understand unique melodic expressions and jangdan structure presented in the Park, Sang-geun school gayageum sanjo of Chungcheongje.
In criticism, recognition of values of the sanjo of Chungcheongje as an intangible cultural property and issues of preserving the intangible cultural property are selected as the instructional content. Teachers place emphasis on developing musical competencies that can help students interpret and evaluate various values ​​of the gayageum sanjo of Chungcheongdoje on the ground of critical thinking. They also have students to criticize preservation and transmission system of the sanjo, the intangible cultural property No. 23, thus having a significance of criticism as a professional.
This study has implications for presenting the instructional content for ‘music appreciation and criticism’ under the career choice curriculum by examining the origins and formative process, historical and cultural background and musical characteristics of transmission genealogy in regard with the Park, Sang-geun school gayageum sanjo.
