초록

This essay focuses on the Translatological characteristics of the Korean annotation of the Classic of Odes(the Korean annotation) in the Chosŏn Dynasty Korea, with the view of Park Moonho to the Odes. In the first place, Park Moonho regards Zhu Xi’s Shijizhuan as the standard of the Odes' reading, and so does the Korean annotation. Even though there are difficulties such as lack of research materials and the collapse of Chosŏn Dynasty, Park Moonho collects and examines various kinds of editions of Shijizhuan in order to improve the accuracy of the text so that we can understand the Odes in an effective way. In the second place, Park Moonho pays close attention to the Korean transcription of Chinese characters in the Korean annotation, and indicates that the Korean transcription of a Chinese should not accept popular pronunciation of a Chinese but accept the pronunciation in principle. He not only investigates whether the various formulaic patterns of the Odes are reflected in the Korean annotation or not, but also puts efforts into resolving the emerging contradictories in the process of translating Chinese into Korean, for instance tense conversions, native tongue vocabularies. His attention on this subject is also matched to the Korean annotation's own intention. Park and the Korean annotation's interest and efforts had its own value in their social background, and also still has valuable suggestion in our times when we understand the Korean annotation and other translations.
