제머리마빡과 허재비놀이의 현대적 변용 연구 (A Study on the Modern transformation of 'Jemeorimappak' and 'Heojabi Play')

초록

전통연희로서 ‘제머리마빡’과 ‘허재비놀이’가 지역축제나 행사에서 새로운 볼거리, 즐길거리로 각광받고 있다. 연동하여 인형 형상이 변화하고 있고, 연희 형태도 변화하고 있다. 지역축제나 행사의 속성을 “Festival”로 간주하고 더한 “재미”를 위해 인위적으로 가장(假裝)한 결과라고 할 수 있다. 그런데 이러한 변화는, 의도한 것이든 의도하지 않은 것이든, 연희자와 관람객이 ‘너’와 ‘나’가 아닌 ‘우리’라는 새로운 공감대를 창조하는 기반이 되고 있다. 하지만 제머리마빡과 허재비놀이의 변화상이 제 아무리 바람직하다고 해도, 보다 체계적인 계승을 위해서는 인위적인 연희 공간에 부합하는 현대적 변용으로서 실현 가능한 방향성을 모색할 필요가 있다. 이러한 인식에서, ‘전통연희의 현대적 변용은 소통과 공감의 콘셉트를 견지할 필요가 있다’는 명제를 전제로, 제머리마빡과 허재비놀이의 연행 배경과 유사하면서도 글로컬 미래문화로 승화된 해외 사례의 분석을 통해 현대적 변용의 방향성을 모색했다. 우선 베트남의 수상인형극 ‘무어 로이 느억’이 일상의 생활과 설화에서 이야기 소재를 발굴하고, 그 이야기에 어울리는 인형을 제작하고 있다는 사실에 주목했다. 그리고 제머리마빡의 전승지로서 목계가 남한강 수운의 경제·문화적 중심지였기에 목계만의 인형과 이야기를 형상화하기에 충분한 조건을 갖추고 있음을 지적했다. 또한 일본의 ‘메이지신궁 인형감사제’가 관람객이 동참할 수 있는 소통의 공간을 창출하고 있다는 사실에 주목했다. 그리고 허재비놀이가 재액의 전이를 통해 개별적인 기원을 성취할 수 있는 제의적 연희라는 점에서 관람객들이 자발적으로 동참할 수 있는 소통의 공간을 충분히 창출할 수 있음을 지적했다. 일련의 논의는 ‘누구에 의한, 누구를 위한 현대적 변용인가?’라는 질문에 대한 해답 찾기의 과정이라고 할 수 있으며, 그 과정의 정점으로서 방향성 모색은 탁상에 앉아 고안한 현학의 결과가 아니라, 지역의 문화 현실을 충실히 파악하여 고안한 실질적인 결과라고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

Today, as a local traditional performance, the 'Jemeorimappak' and 'Heojabi Play' is in the spotlight new attractions, fun activities in the field of festivals and events. Linked to changes in the shape of dolls, and traditional performance form. It may be as a result of the festivals and events in the region is considered to be a "Festival" and It is most artificially for "fun" in addition. However, Whether intended or not intended to do, It has become the foundation for the audience and performers to create a new consensus that "we" rather than the "you" and "me." However, change of image 'Jemeorimappak' and 'Heojabi Play', how much it costs is desirable, for inheritance more systematic, it is necessary to seek a feasible direction as modern transformation that agrees with the performance space. From this recognition, on the premise of the proposition "The modern transformation of traditional performance, need to adhere to the concept of empathy and communication in order to expand the practice of cultural diversity is a", and even though similar to the background of contents of the 'Jemeorimappak' and 'Heojabi Play', through the analysis of cases overseas that have been sublimated into culture of glocal(global-local) future, was to explore the direction of the modern transformation. First, I focused on the fact that Puppet show on the water of Vietnam "múa rối nước" has caught in the story of the their life and the their tale, that they are making dolls appropriate for the story. And the Chungju Mokge Village because there was the center of economic and cultural Southern Han River as transmitted area of 'Jemeorimappak', that it has sufficient conditions to characterize of the story and doll own unique Mokge Village-based I pointed out. And, I paid attention to the fact that they are creating a space of communication that can of Japan "Meiji Shrine doll Thanksgiving(明治神宮人形感謝祭)" to join the visitors. Also, through the highlighting of the fact that ritual performance that can by the displacement of the village disaster, Heojabi Play to achieve the origin of the individual, I pointed out that it is possible to make enough communication space that allows to participate in such actions for visitors. Discussion of the series, can be assumed to be a process of finding the answer to the question "according to whom, whether it is modern transformation for anyone?" and, direction of the search for a peak of the process, can be not a pedantic result devised to sit on a table, and practical results it is devised to understand faithfully the reality of the local culture.
